well, the way i see it.. if they think they're safe enough, then it probably is :) but.. i know what you mean. uh huh, i'd love to have a house in one of those valleys.. maybe one day!
I will migrate to England one day and have a house on one of those valley or a suburban village and acquire a Brit accent ala Madonna. The history of your country, the entire continent actually, lures me to England.
Sigh. We really do not have much valleys like that here in the philipppines. Our tourism hinges on beaches and erm, beaches.
but you have some of the best beaches in the world! let's arrange a swap then, maybe we can swap identities and i can live over there for a while.. though maybe not manilla.. it scares me :\ when is it you're going to study in the states?
Yeah lets.. You could live in one of the provinces in the South, they have the best beaches. *listing the best beaches in the south* And for the record, Manila scares me as well! I live in the suburbs so I had a "quiet" childhood. *smirk*
I leave next year for the spring semester, around March or April, the earliest would be during the holidays.
i don't usually heed travel warnings, but hearing about the gun crime and people getting kidnapped in certain parts of the phills kinda irks me :\ i'm sure it's not bad though, and certainly would put me off visiting! where about's are you living currently?
I used to live about two hour outside Manila - the Manila that they put in the news with so much bad light.
You know Privet Drive from the HP movies, I live in a village much like that. Sururban at it's finest! My high school was a five minute walk from my house and most of my friends live in a 5 mile radius; did I fail to mention that Filipinos are closely-knit.
privet drive? is that where harrys aunt & uncle live, in the beginning? i think i know what you mean. it's like that most places in the UK, at least all the places i've lived. from what i understand, asian families are quite closely knit in general, they all live within the same village/town.. are the phillipines similar?
I love the way Asian families are raised because even when you're 50 you could still go home to your parent's house and bunk for the night. LOL. That's allowed!
The Philippines is one of the most closely knit in the region.
Those places are really lovely, I wish I had a house on one of them hills.
