So, the election is like 4 weeks away and things are heating up and people are getting serious, but at least one thing hasn't changed... the fact that when Joe Biden opens his mouth you can prepare yourself for a good laugh or a body shaking cringe! He is to sound bites as Gerald Ford was to prat falls. The man cannot open his mouth without stupidity just falling out of it.
Like when he says stuff like this...
“When we kicked - along with France, we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, I said and Barack said, “Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don’t know - if you don’t, Hezbollah will control it.”Now what’s happened? Hezbollah is a legitimate part of the government in the country immediately to the north of Israel.” "
Oh Joe! As the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee shouldn't you know what the hell you are actually talking about on foriegn relations issues? Hezbollah wasn't kicked out of anywhere! And if you are advocating telling foriegn countries who they can legally elect to run their own countries you have no room to be casting aspersions on the way the current administration is handling the war in Iraq. At least we didn't try to rig their election the way you want us to do with Lebanon
If he wasn't such an arrogant, back-peddling SOB I'd almost find him amusing.
Anyway, I just wanted to make note of these quotee by Mr. Biden, here for posterity. This is the man the Obama campaign wants us to put "one heart beat away from the presidency". The man who thought FDR was president in 1929, the man who thought that FDR (as president in 1929) had gone on TELEVISION and talked to the people about the stock market crash. The man who claims that he had not voted to give the President powers to go to war, and that he had warned that going into Iraq was a bad idea. The man who was only this past Thursday lamemting the fact that we have been there for 6 1/2 years when he didn't seem to think that a while ago...
This is what Joe Biden said six years ago, during the run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq: "I do not believe this is a rush to war. I believe it is a march to peace and security. ... (Saddam Hussein) possesses chemical and biological weapons and is seeking nuclear weapons." Further, Biden insisted: "We must be clear with the American people that we are committing to Iraq for the long haul; not just the day after, but the decade after."
I also like the fact that during the primary debates between the Dem candidates that were seeking the nomination Joe Biden said that he didn't feel that Barack Obama was qualified to be commander in chief. He also said that the job of president did not lend itself to on the job training and he said he would have been PROUD TO RUN ON THE TICKET with John McCain.
Interesting how he changed his tune, huh? Maybe Joe has split personality disorder?
