Do your part to support Luke/Noah of ATWT! GLBT storylines deserve EQUALITY!
If you support GLBT causes, or if you just think that it's high time that a gay storyline on a soap got equal treatment then please help us bring some media attention to this cause.
This past summer As The World Turns introduced a love interest for it's sole gay character, Luke Snyder and the fan response has been overwhelmingly positive. In fact, the pairing has brought many new viewers to the show and increased the show's ratings. P&G (the parent company that owns ATWT) assured fans that this pairing would be treated the same as any hetero pairing, but sadly they have fallen short of that promise. After 2 brief kisses over the summer when the pairing was first being introduced ATWT has not allowed anymore physical affection (aside from the occasional hug, hand holding and forehead touching) to be shown on screen between the pair.
Now that the couple are in an established, committed relationship one would expect that physical affection would be a natural part of that relationship, but not for gay characters apparently. There have been so many blatant moments of anti-gay bias on the show that we as fans have decided that P&G and ATWT need to realize that all the good PR they recieved when the story was introduced will only last as long as they keep their word. We are determined to let the entertainment media know that ATWT and P&G have fallen down on the job and are now only paying lip-service to their claims of equality for gay storylines and characters.
