We buried my grandmother on Monday. It was a long weekend, but I was able to play "Amazing Grace" on my trumpet as a goodbye to her at the Mass of Christian Burial. It was especially nice of the father to allow me to honor her by bluesing it up, even during the eucharistic portion of the mass - my grandmother enjoyed coming to see me play in the jazz band, and blues is a common way of mourning.
