I'm swearing off TVD for at least a couple weeks. You know, now that Elena has become Bella of Twilight.
I still plan to follow the show, largely because I still adore Damon, bad!Stefan, and the developing Klaroline, but I'm taking a break because the heroine actually fucking disgusts me right now. Rejecting Damon, sure. Fine. But practically falling to her knees begging for Stefan to come back, after repeatedly saying she's fine without him... it's insulting to female-kind. And it perpetuates this idea that your first True Love is worth anything.
If she loved Stefan in spite of what he's done, I'd be okay with it. But that's not it. She just needs him because she can't fucking function without him. I realize she's a teenager, but she's also supposedly being portrayed as a strong woman, and she defies that every time she goes running back to Stefan this season.
I was anxious about going 2 weeks without, but I'm just fucking done for a while. I hated Twilight for the very reasons I'm dropping TVD for the time being. Maybe if I hear it actually bucks up, I'll catch up.
Seriously. I'm done with Elena. And Delena.
