[Neil can be seen sitting on the couch, fingers jamming against the buttons on the controller he's holding. His heel taps anxiously against the floor. Judging by the yelps and clanging metal coming from the TV, he's probably playing some sort of fighting game-- but rather than the dramatic orchestral soundtrack, a quirky indie tune is playing over

[Stephen wanders in half-way through eating leftover spaghetti. As usual he plonks himself on the couch to watch Neil play for a while. It takes him a moment to notice the singing.]

That one's actually kind of catchy.

[On the screen, Neil is playing out Kilik's story arc on Soul Calibur II for about the millionth time. The staff-wielding vagabond is facing off against Xiang-Hua, the sister of his former flame.]

Yeah. Can't get the damn thing out of my head. It plays on every other battle.

Eh, sometimes. This one's got more movie-score type things usually, but it's just frakked like this today. Guess it's a curse thing.

[He takes another huge mouthful of spaghetti and speaks around it.]

Not bad, as far as curses go.

Yeah, totally. [And when Neil beats the battle he's on, he actually gets up to plug in a second controller. Mainly because he sees Stephen's hands are occupied with food.]

'Kay, one rule, you can't play as Kilik.

Yeah, sure.

[Stephen finishes off his dinner and grabs the controller.]

[Neil knuckles down and chooses Kilik as always, hitting the 'Random' option for the arena. As they play, every now and then Neil starts humming along with that song, and when he does, little flashes of colour flicker on the screen. As soon as he notices himself humming, though, he stops himself and scowls.]

...Hate this friggin' song...
