It's sunset before he makes his way back to the far side of the woods, still looking white and sick and spent. His knuckles have taken damage from the bark of several innocent trees, but otherwise he's in one piece, at least literally.

Cimorene's not looking so well herself, though she's more full of resolve than anything, looking ready to hit something hard.

He sees her, makes no effort to pretend he hasn't, but doesn't respond to her presence. Possibly this is prudence, given the stormclouds trailing her.

A moment later she notices him, tensing first at finding she's not alone, and then releasing a bit of it when she notices who it is. "Getting late for a walk."

"Yeah." He puts a hand up to suck at a particularly nasty graze, not looking at her.

[dragon_dealer]

She closes her eyes, then opens them. "If you're not going to meet my eyes either, I don't know that I can talk to you, just now."

"Probably just as well. None of my conversations are going very well today."

[dragon_dealer]

"Funny. I could say the same."

[illgotten]

"Wonderful."

[dragon_dealer]

"I'll leave you alone, then. Just - " She stops and shakes her head.

He does look at her then, waiting.

[dragon_dealer]

"What the hell is it about your family make you so damn confusing?" she asks, quietly.

[illgotten]

"Inbreeding," sourly, not missing a beat.

[dragon_dealer]

She makes a face at him. "Half the noble families in Linderwall are inbred. It just makes them stupid, which you aren't, rather than confusing."

[illgotten]

He blots his hand on his shirt. "We're not? That's news."

[dragon_dealer]

"No. I don't waste my time on stupid people."

[illgotten]

"Your standards must not be that strict, then."
