He twitches. "Hey yourself. Christ, woman, a little warning next time."

"Sorry," not overly penitent. "What're you doing out?"

"What are you?" he counters.

[russet_goddess]

"Thinking. I'm out walking." It's a bit tart.

[illgotten]

"There you are, then." He hasn't really looked at her yet; his eyes are on the shadows, the shifting pools of light, the dark sky, restless. "Good a reason as any."

[russet_goddess]

"Is it your reason?" She pauses a moment, and then reaches out and touches him, quickly and cautiously.

It gets a little shiver, not quite a prickle. "More or less. I don't know."

[russet_goddess]

"Something wrong?" That's a little softer, enquiring.

[illgotten]

"Don't know that, either. Can't seem to settle, is all."

[russet_goddess]

"Well, sit down a minute. Right here, just sit down."

[illgotten]

"No." He pushes fingers into his hair, frowning at nothing. "I don't like these woods."

[russet_goddess]

"I'll drag you home with me, then, shall I? Seems easiest with you."

He grins faintly, and does glance over at her then. "Is that a proposition?"

[russet_goddess]

"It's a bloody demand, you idiot. Come on."

"As my lady commands," dryly.
