Bureaucracy Getting Out of Hand

Oct 12, 2007 10:13

I've been following the Social Security 'no match' story for weeks and knew what was coming, but the other morning I opened the front page of the Chicago Tribune and read a clip from the notoriously liberal Los Angeles Times that filled me with rage: (Click twice for full view)

Some guy posted the above comment and then erased it right away, but I still want to answer it the best I can.

I'm not sure that either party is for immigration reform. They are both interested in the bottom line: Republicans are in the pocket of big business; dems are interested in the hispanic voting bloc and can use them as a way to push socialized medicine. That's my humble opinion stated in few words.

One thing that irritates me that people (and newspapers) bring up is how we supposedly need illegals because of the rising cost of food. That's nonsense! Food prices are going up because of the gas prices, and if we didn't have the illegals around bringing down our wages, we'd be better able to foot the bill.

That's another one of my opinions, but at least I didn't publish it in a newspaper as a supposed fact! I don't appreciate how the above article tells us that 'Congress needs to pass some sort of legalization program' as if it were a fact.

Also, the liberal newspapers are all saying that the people are for anmesty. Hell with that! They should actually talk to some of 'the people'. I'm one of them!

Hi Sorry, I'm still getting use to LJ :D

Thank you for your answer. Saddly we would still have to address the issue as a WHO IS FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM and WHO IS AGAINST IMMIGRATION REFORM.
As Kharmii said, "I'm not sure that either pary is for immigration reform." And I concurr this point, some Rep. are for the Immigration Reform and some are not. Same can be said for the Dem. But I feel in order to get a full grasp on this issue the people need to push to make the partys draw a line as to who is for the immigration reform and who is against.

In the end I think one of these partys are going to have to pick their stand on this issue. I'm sure it'll just take time...

Cheers,
Sean

You're right. I believe whichever party works towards immigration reform will win the next election, but we need a clear answer as to which candidate will be tough on the issue.

On a side note: Have you noticed how other countries are having similiar problems to the US? I just read in Reuters a few days back how Switzerland voted in a rightwing leader because he lobbied for the removal of bogus refugees, illegals abusing welfare, illegals committing crimes, etc.

Interesting... Indeed.

I just went to CNN and looked at what possition all the candidates stand on. And it seems like the majority of our candidates are for Immigration Reform. However, the same can be said about Gay Merrage. lol

Sean.

Haha!! The majority of candidates are for immigration reform because they're smart enough to know it will get them elected. I don't know what to say about gay marriage however, it's very far down on my list of political priorities to think about.

If I was to think about what party would accept Gay Merriage... hands down the Dems. because Reps. are so up their asses about being bible buff. But ironicly greedy too.

Cheers,
Sean.

Do you think the dems would change their stance on gay marriage if they found out the majority of people were against it? I'm not sure if they are or not, but I'm sure that the majority wants immigration reform.

Back to subject: Gee, I would guess the Dems. honistly couldn't give a rats about the Reform but better social security, ya'know? If it's possible.

Secondly, those Mexican assibilage that took place earlyer this year.... Question: Why the hell didn't anyone screen people for Idetification and see who the real immigrants are. In my English Comp Class their is a Mexican American and she was trying to say to me that it's difficult to get a green card and passport and stuff.
Seriously I looked at her and said, Have you tried? And if you have then how long does it take? And secondly if Mexicans are so bent on getting over here why cant they just bone up go through the papers and do what they should do. Instead of comming to America and then being caught and then going back to were they started. It doesn't make sense to me. And I don't understand why people can't just fill out papers and go through the process. To me it just seems like a lot of lazyness.

Cheers,
Sean.

It's just chaos, I'm afraid. We are too lawyer-driven a society and that is what is hurting our nation. That newspaper article posted above is a good example. Our president tries to do the will of the people, but is sued by the ACLU. I'm going to have to dig up that newspaper article I read in this morning's Tribune. Here it is:

Border Fence Work to Resume

Another case of a federal judge working against the will of the people for some bs reason. These federal judges have too much power and the majority of them are liberal. Another thing that both scares and infuriates me is how illegals have organizations working within our country to sue the cities cracking down on them! How is that even able to happen?

Oh how history can repeat it's self. Also and this could be taken as a rumor. But I remember hearing on CNN about how most of the Mexican population is in the aria were old Mexican teritory was at one point, before joining the U.S.

Anyway, I don't think the source is based on actual Logos. And it could of been one of those things to start some kind of rumor mill. ya'know?

In any case I thought it was intreging.
