Stay the Course

Did you know that we already have laws in place that would solve this illegal immigration problem?
Did you know that the President is charged with enforcing our nation's laws?
Did you know that if the President does not discharge his duties, he can be impeached?
Did you know that the House of Representatives is responsible for beginning impeachment hearings?
Sorry, didn't mean to sound condescending, but if the liberals want to impeach our President for his war in Iraq, maybe us conservatives can demand the same for his handling of the immigration crisis.

Instead, they announce this sham of an immigration bill and our esteemed representatives are trying to pull the wool over our eyes by claiming to change this bill to our liking. Well, several measures have been announced.

The Vitter Amendment #1157 would have stricken the amnesty portion from the bill. Well, the amendment was stricken down instead, 66-29. My senator, Richard Burr (RINO-NC), who told the people of his state that he would not vote for amnesty, voted against the very amendment that would have struck the amnesty portion from the bill. Sure, his vote and the non-voters would not have made a difference, but it still shows his hypocrisy. I, for one, will be demanding an explanation and I urge all of you to check how your senators voted and let them and their respective offices know how you feel about it, positively or negatively. Most important when calling or writing, keep it clean, keep it calm, keep it professional. They are not going to take a raving lunatic seriously, no matter how much you want to scream and yell. Also contact your local party chapters (google your state and party, it should be near the top of the list) and let them know that they need to field a candidate in the next primary that will reflect your views. And now would be a good time to let your House representatives know how you feel as well.

And one more thing... Last year, the House actually passed a pretty good bill, you remember, the one that tightened the border and made it a felony to be here illegally and jumped down with both feet on employers and such? Then a bunch of illegal immigrants (okay, MILLIONS!) marched and that somehow swayed our spineless senators into trying to pass some watered down version to appease the lawbreakers. If there is ANYONE out there who has the time, resources and resolve to organize marches by AMERICANS! for AMERICANS!, please do it. Not just these little Minuteman marches, but full-on demonstrations like the ones the Hispanics had with speeches and signs and lots and lots and lots of AMERICAN flags!

Here are some other links.
This is a poll by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). Did you know nearly 80% of the American people just want the laws enforced and the border tightened?

And here is a fine site that can tell you how your esteemed representatives voted on immigration bills that may not have reached the mainstream media.

We need to stay on top of these things. Research, reach out, tell your friends, your family and if your congressperson is not looking out for your interests, then let them know that you will not vote for them if this is how they intend to represent you.
