I have been busy busy busy doing nothing in particular. Spent a week hanging out with wonderful people, spending my time drinking coffee and kombucha and eating bean and rice burritos daily (sometimes twice or three times in one day). There's nothing more romantic than a dumpster full of flowers... so don't even try and argue. I'm in love with too many people, and keep falling for travelers who are bound to break my heart...
After serious thought I've made some decisions about my (near) future:
- I'm not gonna go back to school for a while. It's not where my heart wants to be right now, and you only live once, so fuck it.
-I'm gonna work a lot to save money. This is gonna suck, but it's worth it. My rent is cheap, utilities minimal, so this just means working MORE than 20 hours a week.
-I'm gonna travel A LOT next year. Haven't decided with who or where all yet or even when, but it's gonna happen. I love Portland, I don't think I'll ever be able to leave it permanently, but I want to see more of the states, and visit those I already miss. And its only fair that I go places I hate for those that have gone to places they hate for me. Plus, I'll have a damn good time no matter what. Mark my words.
-I'm happy not drinking as much as I used to- I'm gonna keep it up. I'm drinking again, we'll see for how long, but it's nothing more than a couple of beers on weekends
-I'm going to put my heart into things I love and small organizations of dedicated activists. I'm working on starting a worker-owned bookstore with friends... and I'm excited to see where it takes us.
-I need more metal. More black, more death, more cascadian grey, more sludge, more.
What have y'all been up to? How is everyone? Does anyone wanna come chill at my new place with me?
P.S. My roommate got hit my a car a week ago. He spent the weekend in the hospital. I'm glad he's alive and well today.
Two of my dear friends got hit last night coming home from work. One walked away with a scrape, the other spent the night in the hospital and is now at home with a cast on her leg. Both times the bikers had lights. Be careful... I love you all and don't want another hospital visit..
