(6/9/05) Screamscape has been sent a confirmed report that Kingda Ka suffered what appeared to be a serious malfunction Wednesday afternoon. As you can read in the report filed by About.com Theme Parks the ride was down all morning due to reported problems with the transfer track and while testing in the afternoon an empty train launched down the track with a loud racket and appears to be shooting out shards of metal from either side of the train before it came to a screeching halt. Later in the day the Six Flags website has posted an update that Kingda Ka will not open at all today (June 9th).
