1. corrinne bailey rae - "put your records on"
i found this because the acoustic version was the free download of the week on iTunes. i fell in love with it. it makes me want to sing and dance, put my records on and let my hair down. corrinne is a cool gal from the UK and i've only heard part of a few of her other songs, but i plan to find more out about her.
2. the fray - "all at once"
oh, their cd is flippin' awesome. i like all the songs, and that is always so rare in a cd. this one especially because the lyrics are great and i kind of want to sing them to a certain person. sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same
3. ella fitzgerald - "someone to watch over me"
classic. the first time i heard this song was when roweena sang it in the movie mr. holland's opus and have loved it ever since. and who doesn't like ella? i mean, come on!
4. matt wertz - "honest man"
he's awesome, of course. this is from his new ep, and it's just a good ole love song. if you were my woman / and i was your man / i'd love you as strong, as hard as i can
5. dispatch - "general"
just a cool song. i love his voice. thanks so much to missy _backtoyou for introducing me to them. yeah, coolness. :)
6. coldplay - "yellow"
i jumped on the coldplay bandwagon just after rush of blood to the head came out, so i've never really listened to much of parachutes. i had heard the song before, and liked it, but i finally got it and could listen to it all day without getting tired of it. the string quartet's tribute to this is beautiful, too.
7. keane - "bend and break"
i just jumped onto the kean bangwagon, a little late, i know. this song kind of reminds me of u2 for some reason. i like it. they're cool. i love the piano.
