Taeminnie-oppa! It’s two hours more to July 18th~ how’s your feeling anyway? You’ll get older a year more than me!!! Aigoo. So sad... ㅠㅠ
Taemin can’t help but giggling at Jinri’s text and it makes his bed almost shaking like crazy. He’s already in SHINee’s dorm since hours ago, and all only by himself - since he was the one who nag the most about going back to the dorm after their plane from Taipei landing at the airport. Yeah, it’s 10 PM at July 17th, and yes he’ll only have to count down to his 19th birthday. But seems he’s not the one who does the countdown, the girl on the line does.
He’s having text by text with only her tonight, despite the fact that he must do something else rather than laying his body on bed and waiting for his hyungdeul to come back to the dorm. At once, he rises up only to sit on the bed but then he goes laying again, while Jinri - without him knowing even a bit tip of it - is preparing a gift for him along with Soojung and Victoria. Amber and Sunyoung are probably taking care of their own dearest Bap.
“Yah, unni, are you really sure with that...?”
“How come you don’t know much about him, seriously...” says Victoria while she packs some banana milk on the box; along with Jinri’s birthday card, some CD albums (with Victoria’s kiss on the CDs), and a mini teddy bear. “He’ll still love all of this, unni promises~” the Chinese one gives Jinri a grin and small laughter while she with Soojung are looking at each other, silently arguing if they should believe their big unni or not.
Just a few seconds later, and Jinri’s phone is ringing.

Haha, don’t be sad. It’s perfectly perfect that I’ll become older more than you ^^ what are you doing right now? Preparing my gift? ㅋㅋㅋ
She sighs as she’s texting him back.

ㅠㅠ No, I’m just watching some dramas with Victoria-unni :P There’s no gift for you this year :| you didn’t even send me even one gift on my birthday before...!!
A slight disappointment comes from Taemin’s heart. Well, he does know and yet, he does still remember that he didn’t give her anything on her birthday - Taemin was too busy, which means he tended to forget any little things sometimes, especially Jinri’s birthday. As he wakes up and heading to the kitchen, again he presses button by button - texting her back.

You still remember about it, huh? I’m sorry, but at least I spent much time with you the day after your birthday, right?

And sadly there’s no even an answer from Jinri up until now, an hour to his birthday, and yet the hyungdeul are still not at home. Either Taemin should feel anxious or excited (and hide it, because of his thoughts that perhaps they’re preparing a surprise for him) but in the end, he finds himself dumbfounded for no reason. He begins to grab a glass and fill it with black coffee, while he’s thinking if he should pretend to sleep until one of his hyungdeul comes to him (though he really needs it the most for now...) or he should blatantly face the door until someone knocks the door - and again, the most possibility is either Jinki or Minho first to come in.
11.13 PM, when Taemin receives another text from Jinri - seems like she’s really doing the countdown.

Less than an hour again, I guess? ㅋㅋㅋ Aigoo, I have so much fun with Victoria-unni but I can’t hold myself again, I need to sleep ㅠㅠ happy birthday in advance for you, then, oppa! 뿅~ ^o^
But seems like the coffee doesn’t give him too much effect, he gets sleep after reading the text on the couch. He just couldn’t take it no more, even it means that he’ll miss the time when the golden hair boy turning into a (should be...) guy.

“Yah, yah, Taemin-ah.”
July 18th, 12:05 AM. Five minutes after the time Taemin turns nineteen (and becomes legal, Minho thinks), that one tall hyung wakes him up by carrying him to one seat in the kitchen. A birthday cake is placed by Jonghyun right in front of the maknae, with the candles already lit.
And about time Kibum and Jinki are ready to splash him with water (to surprise and wake him up), Taemin opens his eyes slowly and - “YAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!” Kibum bursts his laugh as he splashes him a bit hard than he should be - so great that it doesn’t make the candles dimmed. And their party starts as Taemin blew out the candles and cut the cake for all his hyungdeul, when Minho suddenly turns on the music and let their maknae enjoy the night.
At the outside of their dorm, Jinri has reached their dorm’s doors but because of some kind of noisy sound from the inside, she doesn’t dare to knock the door. She keeps quiet as she carries a birthday box for Taemin - and her outfits stands out too much, her silly leader told her to wear these if she’s about to come to SHINee’s dorm again. Jinri already sends Taemin a text but she thinks that Taemin’s phone is already in silent mode - along with the rest’s - so she can’t do anything but stubbornly waiting until someone’s checking the outside of the dorm, in case someone drops a gift for Taemin.

7:00 AM, when Taemin wakes up first amazingly.

At first, Taemin still can’t believe that the figure in front of him who is sleeping on his bed right now already spent the night only waiting for their party to drop - which was ended at almost 3 AM, when suddenly Jinki acted like he was drunk and fell asleep on the floor. He already opened his gift from her when he found it beside her - eventhough it doesn’t look like a birthday gift, but he knew it from her doodles; she probably drew it when she was on the way here.
He sighs at how he didn’t even check his phone last night - well, because he was really into the small party but still, a burdensome feeling is still around him.
“Silly girl,” Minho is giggling beside him, patting his shoulder. “She’s always like that, I told you.”
“Yeah, hyung, you know her better than me...” still can’t leave his baby image, Taemin gives him a pout.
“And you’ll never change, huh?”
“Hoaaaaahm.”
Taemin thinks that Jinri looks so pretty when she wakes up with her face like that - without even putting a makeup, just showing him her natural face. And Jinri is dazed with what she’s looking at right now. “Why am I even here...?” says Jinri as she rubs her eyes.
“You fell asleep, silly.” Minho retorts as he ruffles his dongsaeng’s hair. “Uh...” the tall one glances into the outside of the room, there’s Kibum - silently giving him a cue to get out from the place - maybe he needs him to do something... or something else. “Ah. I never thought I can’t bother your moment.” Says he with a laughter and Taemin blatantly pokes his butt while laughing, and within seconds, Minho leaves him only with Jinri, who’s about to rise up from his bed.
“Why don’t you even call me?”
“Surprise - you know... and there was a party when I arrived so, umm,” she shrugs.
“Ah, as I’d expected.” Taemin places his kiss on her bare forehead, and Jinri closes her eyes. It’s already like a habit for him to kiss her - but not at the lips - whenever their eyes meet each other. He just really likes it. So much that maybe he could die - once he told Jinri about that but she only responded with her big laugh.
Jinri doesn’t even need to say ‘Happy birthday!’ again to him again, she supposes.
“Oh... that banana milks are from Victoria-unni, by the way...”
