Today was a nice day, I finished my Star Trek book, read a lot of the body-building book, spent two and a half hours in the gym (doing cardio, a LOT of abs, biceps, and legs), and then went out and made dinner at my grandma's for my uncle and his family, as well as my parents and of course my grandma and myself. i volunteered to cook when i talked to my aunt at about 2:30 and they were heading to falling water and would be getting back sometime around 7:00 and hadn't yet made plans for what to eat. I made rost beef with chopped garlic, rosemary, red wine, and salt and pepper. Also I made garlic-layered potatoes, a recipe with whipping cream, broth, nutmeg, roasted garlic, salt and pepper, and Russet potatoes from in my one cookbook that my aunt and uncle inspired me to buy. And I made a salad like the one my aunt made the other night, also the Good Seasons balsamic vinaigrette. It all turned out quite good.
As for my workout, I managed to get 185 for 14 reps on squats, and then 205 for 7. I will keep working on those weights until i can get 20 reps. Biceps went well, I did 55 lbs on each side of the EZ curl bar for five reps. I got three reps last week, and that was the first time I ever put more than 50 lbs on each side. So I am still progressing with biceps, though everything else has stalled out (well, except traps and abs and legs). anyway, I am quite sore and tired, and am going to get to bed. I almost logged off, remembered I hadn't blogged, considered my streak of a blog every day for the summer so far, and decided to spare another five minutes. Perhaps one of these days I will write about the DS9 Millennium Trilogy I am reading, it is quite good. But that day is not today. And if you start getting into the Sisko's conversations with the Prophets about linear/non-linear time, and the concept of already/not yet, that would be a very confusing statement to say I will do it sometime but not now. So I won't get into that kind of a conversation. Today is a good day to die! (don't be alarmed, my non-Trekkie readers, that is just a Klingon expression, I have every intention of remaining alive as long as I can)
