I love the way Luca's eyes just barely open when we wakes up, and he peers out before moving his body or even his head. It's like he's gotta check out what's happening and see if he really wants to wake up, afterall.
Okay, so...I owe some big apologies and big thank yous. Under no circumstances is it alright that I let it go three weeks before saying thank you for all the birthday wishes.
I'M SORRY!
THANK YOU!
I don't check in as much as I'd like to these days. I keep hoping that will change, and maybe it will as Luca gets more independent. I miss my LJ friends and there a lot of new people who've friended me lately and I don't even know you guys. * waves * Say hello so I can meet you!
My birthday was good, if a bit hectic. I definitely took on more than I could chew with all the house stuff, house guests x3, AND a birthday party. What was I thinking? I just get so excited and don't want to say no to anything. Ya know?
Our house is .... I need to run outside and take some pics like I've been meaning to .... getting there! Whenever you start a house project, five others show up needing to be done too. We've decided on a living fence, rather than replacing our nasty-ass fence with a new one. Mr. Ilke put up the climbing wires last week and the clematis is already starting to vine over it. More house stuff later...
CH is regrettably taking forever again. Mr. Ilke and I are still trying to figure out how to have a little personal time (individually) without overwhelming the other. I'm participating in this special round of
dramione_ldws Draco's Birthday Rumble Invitationals (GO
VOTE!) because I thought it would help get me in the writing mode again.

You know, some people just sit down and write. I'm jealous. Its never really been that way for me. It's why I don't think I could be a writer for a living. But I think just getting my head in the word-world again will help tremendously. Plus, I think we've figured out that at least once a week, I can have a few hours away from home (that's the key) where I can go and write.
How is it for you guys? Do you just open a doc and start typing? What is your process like?
