How do guardians work?

[long pause]

You have more experience in this than me.

Why do you want to know?

C'mon, Satomi, you have to give me a few more bites than that.

I'm looking at possibly doing a study on how to best extract information from a guardian ward pair, which would be greatly facilitated by understanding the depth of the relationship, Minoru.

Why is this something that needs a full study? You hurt the ward, the guardian goes apeshit. Simple as that.

I'm aware of that, Minoru. What needs study is the best way to extract honest, truthful information. You know as well as I that such simple torture methods are more likely to disclose misinformation.

So use the same tactics you use on everyone else.

I'm kind of busy, Molly. Are you going to tell me what this is really about, or can I go back to ignoring you now?

[ the transcription is illegible for quite a bit, as Molly is making noises that the journal system doesn't understand. ]

I have one.

So have fun torturing them like you do everyone else. You don't need me to chaperone all of a sudden, do you? Or are you asking me on a date?

[Some minutes later, when he's actually processed what she said]

Wait, you have your own Guardian?

[Cue slightly-subdued laughter.]

Yes. I'm asking you on a date.

To torture my guardian.

It'll be fun. We can bond.

Help.

This is possibly the best news I've heard all day. I don't even mind that you're running with the date joke.

Have you tried slamming your hand in your car door yet?

Nooo.

I will have to try that one. Mostly, I'm dreaming about killing him. See, you can trust Lily, but I'm not sure I can keep him around.

Sounds like you just have expend a little effort, kiddo. Make him yours. It's not that hard. I mean, he's already forced to look out for your well-being; I'm sure you can think of things to do with that, right?

And, well, is he innocent?

I haven't figure that out yet. I mean, push come to shove, I can get someone else to handle it.

And yeah, I could do that, I'm just afraid that something'll go down before I can do that. The last thing I need is an incident. In fact, it wouldn't look that good on you, either. :)

Mostly bad on me, but yanno, the dangers of having a guardian and all that. Especially one with a track record... I'm not sure why I'm thinking about that.

It's not like I'm volunteering to help you out, here. Plus, Ken's more likely to back me up with lawyers than you. I haven't had any incidents lately. :)

Track record?
