Where do I start? How can the AWESOME Obama be my president but my state voted Yes on 8? The first people to settle in America came from Europe to " escape religious persecucion". The new world, eventually became " the land of the free" where we were ALL created equal, where we were allowed to say anything we want, or at least have an open opinion. And most importantly, be separated from religion and state, government. What we do in our church, homes and private meetings will have no effect or influence on our government. The government will be there for the people. Every person. Every American, no matter what views they have. Our cities have been built brick by brick by people of all walks of life. With different religions and sexual prefrence.
Christians make up a huge part of America. But it is NOT the only religion. It is what it is.. a religion. With its own ideas, and views on everything. I am glad they have the right and freedom to practice and believe what they like. But... when a religion says that a human being doesn't have the same rights as THEM. That upsets me. When a religion takes THEIR views, THEIR discrimination and hatered and then makes prop.8...that is wrong. It goes against what America stands for. Where is the serparation?? Religios views are in MY Government.. MY government is not a Christian government, its a fucking AMERICAN Government. The "melting pot" is america, meaning there are SO MANY different people and views out there. Why should a ignorant, close-minded, " in their own bubble" kind of people tell ME and MY FRIENDS what our government should control. Fuck That. Gay People ARE PEOPLE!!!! They have feelings, blood, bones, ideas...they have what Christians have. Sorry they didnt glue them selfs to a book every sunday and say " Oh hey someone wrote being gay is evil..must be true, ill live my life to think this." .. Your allowed to THINK that. Doesnt mean its FACT. Its far from fact. ProtectMarriage.com? Uhhh its not under attack..? Wtf? Ok maybe in your religion it is..but MARRIAGE is not under attack, its just getting a little expanded to represent out modern day. Big Deal. How did this happen?
I understand that Christianinty isn't the only religion that has hate for homosexuals. I also understand not only Christians supported Prop8. But, I can tell you every person I know who supported it was a Christian. Open up, and stop living in your bible, accept humans for humans, understand that change is real, change is happening, change HAS happened, change is needed and change will always happen. We will not stay stagnet and the same. It happens.
This was a sad loss. But with Obama in office, its only a matter of time before it gets corrected.
