Ally. Watches. Stuff! Part 1 - Once Upon A Time
What up homies!! It's been FOUR MONTHS since I updated, What. The. Hell? I've had so much to watch, so much tv to catch up on. So much everything. Now that finale season has hit us I can finally talk about my feelings! The next couple of posts I am going to do are going to include my feelings on things.
Let's start with Once Upon A Time! I'm not going to do episode by episode, these will be in general thoughts about things but I will be doing a much more in depth (with pictures!) review of the finale for onceuponaland so keep an eye out for that! Let us begin:
Neal is Baelfire - No, really? You could have knocked me over with a feather when I heard that /sarcasm. Really though, it was pretty darn obvious. I like Neal, I think he's pretty great and I am glad he's going to be a season regular next season.
Queen Eva is Flawless - My flawless angel Rena Sofer played Queen Eva and was as always wonderful in the part, really as far as resemblances go, the casting department has got it spot on. She died unfortunately, Cora killed her because Cora is a biiiiitch.
Cora - Cora was a bitch, plain and simple. Young Cora was played by Rose Magowan and she was damn awesome, she looks so much like Barbara Hershey and we learned that Cora never really loved Regina because she took out her own heart long ago. Daaaamn girl. Oh and the reason why she was a bitch is because one time in court, Snow's mum tripped her up. As far as excuses for revenge go, that is pretty darn flimsy.
The Blue Fairy is not shady - It really annoys me that so many people think that she is, she's just there helping people out. Y'all just think she's shady because she ~ripped Bae away from Rumpelstiltskin~ and whatever. No, not true. Bae wanted to go, and yes she did send him to a world without magic, she had no idea that from there he would wind up in Neverland. She also did not offer the death candle to Snow and what she did for August well she gave him another chance, everyone is way too hard on her.
Oh Hai Graham - Oh Graham, you light up the screen even though you were only on it briefly, it was good to have you back good sir. The Welcome to Storybrooke was actually a really interesting episode, it showed Regina revelling in her victory and then starting to hate it because none of the townspeople remembered their pasts.
Greg & Tamara - The Anti-Magic brigade! They work for the ~Home Office~ (Whole thing has a very Torchwoody vibe about it) and they just...hate magic so much and yet they used a magic bean to escape, not knowing where it would take them. It could have taken them anywhere! I hate them both but I'm intrigued to see who it is they work for, most theories I have come across imply that it is the Darlings.
Captain Hook - Oh Captain Hook, you handsome devilish flop of a pirate. Really I know he is much better than being the frontman to Regina and Greg and Tamara's cons. The scenes with him and young Bae were cute, aw. We need more of that. One thing, I'm not sure if it was explained or not, how did Hook leave town and go to New York without losing his memory? is it because he took his boat? Explain please!
August's Demise - I heard it was coming and I got scared. I was like 'Nooo I can't watch you kill off another devilishy handsome man, it's not fair! This was the reason I let myself get so far behind, I even thought about giving up because of it but then I told myself to buck up and watch and it really wasn't that bad. He was dead anyway, the Blue Fairy managed to bring him back as Pinocchio so I wasn't that upset about it.
The Dark Snow Storyline - This was all over facebook and really I thought they dragged it out. So Snow was responsible for causing Cora's death. So flipping what? Cora killed Snow's mum, Regina killed her dad (Oh and by the way Regina, it was really your mum who killed David so...) but ohhh now Snow has a black mark on her heart. Ruby eats people! I can only imagine how black her heart is!
Belle/Lacey - What was the point of Lacey really? Just so she could pretend to be hot and slutty and watch Gold threaten to but his boot through Dr. Whale's face? Blaaah I'm asleep. In the final episode she picked up though when Belle got her memories back, she had a nice farewell with Gold, aww. Her accent still annoys me damnit.
Evil Peter Pan - I have to say I wasn't expecting that, Evil!Peter? It almost makes Hook look like the good guy. What is his deal and why is he Shadow!Peter? Also how is it he was looking for Henry years and years before the kid had even been born? He must be some hell of a prophet.
Best Random Awww Moment - When we thought the town was going to go under and Emma called Snow and David mum and dad, awwww!
Curse of the Underused - This applies to so many: Mulan, Aurora, Phillip (How did Phillip wake up?), Lancelot, Robin Hood, Doctor Whale, Archie, Ruby (yes I am including them and I'll tell you why in a bit.) You know with most of the main cast in different locations, it's like unless something really interesting is happening in Storybrooke (like say Home Office storms the place) There is no real reason for us to go back there.
Departures - So I have heard that Jamie Chung, Meghan Ory and Raphael Sbarge have all found other shows. This is kind of disconcerting mostly because it puts the dampener on my Frankenwolf ship. Noooo *cry* I wish them luck of course and I hope Ruby will be back but still, me sad ;_;
CGI WHY?! - ABC is owned by Disney, Why is the CGI for this show so damned awful? It really should not be that bad. I suppose it could be looked at as so bad it's good but no, it's just bad.
Once Upon A Time In Wonderland - So it has a spin-off show starting in the fall, I am not sure it really needs to exist. I get it, wonderland is cool but it's not the same without Jefferson as the Hatter and let's face it, he isn't coming back for that role. (curses!) It looks kind of interesting I guess? Though Alice herself, I'm not fond of her.
Overall Conclusion - Good season, even though there were some gaping plot holes. When I got back into it I wondered why I left, this show is great, it's my kind of show and I will watch season 3, yes.
