CHARACTER INFORMATION

Background
Wikipedia

Character Abilities
She's a spirit, but much different from the kind that's transparent and moves through walls. She's tangible. Her real body is in a comatose state while her spirit is out running around, making friends. It's not explained HOW her spirit has a solid form, but she's just like a human being. She has no "real" extraordinary powers. She claims to have special abilities of her own but they don't work.

In the series (after her story arc), she is known to be able to pop out of nowhere like a ninja and stick around for a few minutes to do something silly. After that, she runs off. It's done mainly for comic relief.

Personality
Depending on what situation Fuuko's in, her personality may vary. For the majority of the time, she's loud and alert, which is a huge difference from her demeanor before her start of high school. Despite being a high school student, Fuuko has the maturity (and appearance) of a grade schooler. It's a reflex of hers to say something before putting any thought into her words which usually leads her to offending the other person, without her realizing it. She's gullible, easily falling for jokes and taking things literally. Also, she often speaks in the third person, makes up new words (such as "petit horrible"), and is excited by the strangest things such as children's birthday party sets, starfish, and being hugged. Almost always, that excitement will have her zone out and send her daydreaming.

Her childlike behavior may be due to the fact that she's learning to grow accustomed in interacting to the people around her and having fun with her newfound friends. Before starting her freshman year, Fuuko was a timid young girl, often hiding behind her older sister, whom was her only friend at the time. Now that she's no longer the person that NEEDS to be approached, she's the one that approaches others instead. But that's only if she doesn't consider that person as "weird" or "bad". When she does, she'll scream, run a short distance, and go in defense mode... or hide behind someone to use as a shield. That's when she throws all away her nice manners and acts rude. Tomoya once describes her as being cautious like a little animal.

However, not every situation excites Fuuko. There are times when she is able to keep her big mouth shut. She goes from being loud to not speaking a single word at all. In some instances, she grows nervous. When introduced to a new situation, such as attending a high school classroom, she becomes quiet until her friends toss her some words of support to give her a little push. Her silence is also a sign that she could be depressed over something. Fuuko is the type of girl that doesn't cry, or cry publicly. All she'll do is pout.

Although Fuuko is immature for her age, she's a hardworker and loves her friends, especially her older sister. Her devotion to her friends and family is shown through her hard work which usually drains all her concentration and energy. One example of her hard labor is carving hundreds of starfish-shaped sculptures to distribute to hundreds of high school students in order for her older sister to achieve happiness. She's willing to withstand any pain there may be in the process and doesn't think much for herself. If she fails at something, she believes that all she has to do is try even harder.
