[ Rule 03 ] [DECOY!]

Jan 20, 2010 20:54

[Mr Durden is awake just in time for the chaos to start.

He's making himself useful by grabbing his smokes and lighter and heading for Deck 17. Idly, the man is smoking and casually setting fire to the tapestry, after which his attention will turn to the silks and the pillows.

The comm cracks on.]Barbecue on Deck 17!! Crew! You might wanna get ( Read more... )

[By the time Meth had made it back to the passenger decks, she'd stepped out into chaos. It hadn't taken long for her to find several passengers doing their damnedest to get whatever they could grab hold of and tear it to the ground. She had bigger fish to fry, and let the passengers throw their tantrums. The Captain had given her orders and she was going to s--

"Whoaa! Looks like it's too late to save the tapestry! This linen shit burns so well!"

Meth remembered that voice, and when she spoke on the comms her voice was terse.]

...Tyler, you had better not be doing what I think you're doing.

[The response Meth earns is a burst of laughter. He knows her voice just as easily as she does his.]

That would depend entirely on what you think I'm doing.

[She's on her way to deck seventeen by the way. So fast. Tearing things apart is one thing. Fires are another entirely.]

You weren't exactly subtle, Tyler. If you wanted more of what you got last time you only had to ask. Pissing me off in the process wasn't a smart move on your part.

[He snorts with laughter.]

I just said there was fire. I never said I was responsible.

[As he says this, he's lighting the corner of a particularly lovely piece of silk. Assuming the fire is put out before it gets too out of control, one might notice that he's burning a smiley face.]

Whoosh! You better run faster, Meth.

[Now it was Meth's turn to snort.]

Right. Good citizen that you are, you just felt the urge to let the crew know, hm? I guess everything you're doing to try and stop the fires just isn't helping is it?

[Meth was already rushing as much as she could, but it wouldn't be fast enough, as far as she was concerned. If it was fast enough, she would have been there already.]

Sure I am. What else could you expect from a nice, charming guy like me?

[His voice is far too light and kind to be taken seriously. Not that anyone who's met him would take that seriously.]

But y'know, it's getting a bit crazy now. Flames and shit everywhere. I wouldn't want to get hurt.

[She'll find him by the elevator doors, leaning against the wall and casually watching the fire take over.]

[The elevator doors opened, and Meth's eyes widened at the sight of the fire. She took in Tyler, standing there as well, but her first thought wasn't to deal with him, but the fire.]

Fuck.

[Meth rushed toward a panel, pulled out her key card and slid it through an almost invisible crack to the right. The panel slid open easily and Meth shoved her hand against a red button inside.

The sprinkler system burst to life, dousing all of deck seventeen, Meth, and Tyler.]

[He didn't budge from where he stood, arms folded across his chest and a smug smile on his face. Tyler was rather happy with his handy work.]

Well damn. Who knew it could be such an easy fix.

The man was barefoot and wearing his usual long black pants and white button up shirt. The sleeves were rolled messily to his elbows. If anything, Tyler looked to be enjoying the sudden burst of water from the sprinklers.]

[Meth didn't look back at Tyler just yet. Her eyes were focused on the fire as she made sure that the sprinklers were enough to put the fire out. As she watched, Meth took in where the fire had touched and how extensive the damage was. The more she surveyed the deck from her vantage point, the more Meth was convinced the entire deck would have to be closed off. It was a mess.

By the time she turned back toward Tyler, a murderous expression on her face, she was soaked by the sprinklers and just didn't give a damn.

For a moment, it seemed as if she might say something, but instead Meth drew on her power and slammed Tyler back as hard as she could manage, shoving him against the wall next to the elevator doors.]

[Tyler hit the wall with a thud, grunting with the impact. He'd known to expect such a response, but had thought there would be a little more yelling. Maybe that would come later.

It took him a moment to recover. The breath was knocked out of his lungs and his head hurt from the sudden impact. He fixed his gaze upon her face and noted the look she was giving. Tyler tried very hard not to smile.]

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say you you're not happy with me.

[Meth wasn't the sort to shriek like a disgruntled fishwife. She liked venting her frustration with more physical methods.]

Of the two of us, I think I'm more likely to do some stabbing right about now, than you.

[Still ignoring the water, Meth walked up to Tyler. She wasn't restraining him yet, but depending on how things went, she wasn't discounting the possibility.]

Why'd you do it, Tyler?

[Her reaction was very, very interesting to him. Tyler is quiet for a few seconds before steadily tilting his head to the side and giving Meth an innocent, questioning look.]

Do what?

[The hint of a smirk itches at the corners of his lips. She looks good all wet like that.]

Why did you fuck over this goddamn deck, Tyler?

[She couldn't contain herself anymore, and with another burst of power, punched Tyler in the face. Once. Twice.

Meth watched with pleasure, the way Tyler's head snapped to the left, and then to the right.]

[A fresh line of blood trailed from his nose and the split in his lip reopened by the invisible fist. He coughed, laughing quietly and shifted his jaw open and closed.]

I'm still so used to being punched with a fist.

[He muttered to himself, amused. It would be a very long time before Meth's method of attack got boring.]

I can't tell you that. It'd ruin the surprise. Or maybe I just had to see you again.

[Tyler smiled a bloody grin.]

[Meth narrowed her eyes at Tyler, and had it been any other time, she might have found that smile somewhat charming, and even grinned back, commenting on his just having to see her again.

She was too pissed right then, and after crossing her arms over her chest, grabbed Tyler by the ankle, flipped him upside-down, and slammed him into the wall a few times before letting him drop in a heap at the floor.]

If this is the way you plan on getting some one-on-one time in the future I think I'm going to have to put you through some training, Tyler.

[Somewhere in all of this, Tyler should have been registering that Meth was not someone to be messed with. Being turned upside down caught him by surprise but still managed to hold his amusement. Whatever smart comment he'd been about to make was cut off when Tyler was thrown against the wall, once, twice, three times.

He landed in a heap, curling in a bloody pile before steadily getting back to his feet. Tyler was shaky and his face was a mess, and no doubt there would be a new range of bruises on the rest of his body appearing in the next day or two. A little more seriously, he looked again to Meth.]

It worked didn't it? You're giving me exactly what I want. Think about it.
