I swear, I'm just about to end this telephone-tennis-match with my 'potential' second employer. I gave them my resumé and interviewed with them WEEKS ago, and just last Friday, my former co-worker (who also works for them) calls me up, asking me what the hell is going on, because they've been trying to get in contact with me for a week or so. So, I call them back, and learn that they've left me plenty of voicemail messages (none of which I have any record of on my cell or home phone), asking me to come in to start. I explain that perhaps due to some miscommunication, I never received anything. So they give me the number of their manager, and instruct me to call him on it. I leave a message on his cell phone and work phone, and give him my contact information once more. After two days of not hearing anything back, I call him again, and this time I'm able to get in touch with him (although he seemed entirely surprised to get a call from me). In a half-hearted tone, he tells me that he would need that afternoon to retrieve my resume, but he promised he would call me back the next day.
That was on Tuesday. It is now early Friday morning. If I don't hear anything back by him this weekend, I'm applying somewhere else. Even I'M not that disorganised...*grumble grumble grumble*
