Well, I figure I'll start this off with telling you what I do for a living. I move plants.
A little background --
I work for McCorkle Nurseries, a company based in Atlanta, GA. Basically, McCorkle supplies the Home Depots in Middle Tennessee (among other places) with live goods a.k.a. shrubs. What happens is, when the trucks bring the carts of plants in, I unload the carts onto the specified tables for display. I don't do this alone, I'm usually with my friend Lucas, or if it's a relatively large order, a team of 3-5 people on average.
My job doesn't end here however. Because I am a merchandiser for McCorkle, I am also a vendor for several other companies: Stacy's (Ground Cover, colorful plants, mums, pansies), Greenleaf (Green house products, basically indoor plants), Carolina (Similar to the McCorkle shrubs, but mostly products that go in the shade) and Cumberland (Big trees. Big fucking trees).
I took my camera to work with me a few days last week to capture the scope of my job, and to show what it is I really do. Here are some pictures!
This is what we call a "shit load" of carts.
These are pansies (Stacy's).
A once empty table, that is now filled with our plants.
Me, with a cart.
A greenhouse display we made.
A before and after shot. Top is before, bottom is after. It's skewed because it's comprised of two seperate pictures for a cheap and quick panoramic view. My camera has a panoramic option but... oh well.
And that's basically it. What a job, huh?
