Wohoo! What an awesome day to wake up to! Liberal lost. They lost big time!!!!! I is happy.
Craig from the Chaser said last night that the "underlying deep hatred for John Howard" is probably the reason Labor would win, lol! So true.
I was out at a friends 21st birthday. We had lots of food and music and more food and good chat. When we heard that Howard lost his seat in Bennelong we all wooped and laughed. And then when the news came through that Labor had won we all cheered. Liberal lost their seat in Lindsay which I'm glad about because that's the electorate I'm in.
Ehehe! I'm just chuffed. I voted Greens. They didn't get many seats but still helped to usurp Howard from his thrown of limitless power.
We had to sit through 11 years of his reign. I am so glad there is finally change in the air. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I'm not saying that Labor is awesome, but it will push Liberal harder to gain back power in three years time. It brings up the competition. I think Liberal felt too save, making them cease caring about the people they are supposed to serve. This has shaken them up and if they want to get back on top they'll have to do a shit load of work to sway the people. And likewise, Labor now has to try its best to keep to what it said it would do. With Unions and the Greens on board, Rudd can probably be bullied into doing the right thing. And that's what's important.
I really hope we'll see a significant change for the better within the next three years. Let Labor show us what they are made of so that next time Liberal gets into power they can't keep falling onto Labor governments of the past and tell us how awful it was back then.
