The Doctor Who Universe...

Ahahahah! Ludicrously happy and fangirly!

The last two episodes of Torchwood were great. There are things I am mightly displeased about but overall I am happy. Man kissing, Oh yeaaaahhh baby! Jack on Jack action, fantastic. And the last episode was immensely exciting with lots of 'edge of seat' action. I am just so fucking excited about the crossover that will happen with Doctor Who and Torchwood now. Oh fuck yeah! Brilliant, bloody brilliant! There was man kissing and then slight TARDIS fanservice.

I will say it only once... sometimes, when the situation is right I loooooove crossovers!!! Just like that CSI and CSI: Miami one.

I'm so excited. I'll have to watch the new Doctor Who eps now because in the last three or so the Doctor is going to pick up Jack, oo what fun! I wonder what will happen. The look on Jack's face as the sound of the TARDIS drifted to his ears was delightful! They have so much catching up to do. And then it is safe to assume that the Doctor will drop Jack off back at Cardiff Torchwood HQ in time for season two of Torchwood. I am chuffed. So, so chuffed!

So that is that. Torchwood may be over but The Sarah Jane Adventures have just begun! It's an endless string of Doctor Who spin-offs, to make sure the fans will never go without, no matter what the season. I wonder what it will be like. It amuses me, because The Sarah Jane Adventures are totally for kids, or so I assume as they are commissioned it and are playing it on some kids channel. Doctor Who itself is for all age groups, and Torchwood is for adults.

I feel giddy inside. Here's some Doctor Who music from the official soundtrack spanning the first two new seasons. My favourite pieces are as follow...

  • Rose's Theme.mp3 - simply beautiful and emotional. Played in all the right scenes, which make Rose all the more bareable in season 1. The last scene of Season 1 sticks in my mind most of all, where Nine takes leave of her and our beloved Ten appears.
  • The Face of Boe.mp3 - a very spacey sound, which of course reminds you of that big head in the jar as it is his theme music.
  • Madame de Pompadour.mp3 - another stirring track. Graceful, sweet, touching all of which mask a great sadness. A perfect depiction of the Doctor and Madame de Pompadours interactions.
  • Doctor Who main theme (full).mp3 - i think the title explains itself. The full glorious updated version of the classic 1961 tune. Revamped and given the full orchestral treatment. May it forever remain etched upon the psyche of a nation.

  • Doomsday.mp3 - my favourite piece of music from the series thus far. What a fitting accompaniment to a highly emotional ending for season 2. The slow bass line and piano, setting a rhythm. The haunting vocals. The ever steady build up. A portrayal of Rose's search and her anxious heart. Plus it has violins which I recently found a new love and appreciation for. I love the orchestral rock this track breaks into. Keeping that slightly frantic pace.  -

Other than that I wtached Happy Feet again today. My first impression still stays the same. A brilliantly moving movie, although I managed to keep the tears away this time. Animal Logic, you do Australia proud!

And I sorted out my little relationship problems. So all is well and good in the world of the Ilien once more.

Ja Ne!
