Just another day...

Think happy thoughts! HAPPY THOUGHTS!

I had fun today. Met up with Minnie, Em and Sam today. Walked around the city. Bought stuff. I couldn't resist. I felt too nostalgic, so I bought Ghost Busters 1 and 2 on DVD. Also nabbed The Nightmare Before Christmas and other unmentionable things as they are for a certain someones birthday :D

I also bought Trigun Maximum Vol. 10.. Now kids... block your ears if you don't wanna hear a spoiler for the manga.

So I was reading it. and it was great. Great fight with Livio and all that. I'm glad Vash came to Wolfwoods aid. It was just like old times. They joked around, they fought as a team, they had to make tough decisions. It was beautiful. But... well in short Wolfwood kinda didn't make it. I didn't even get it. He seemed fine... considering he was pushed to the brink of death at least three times in the last two volumes And then.. then he just dies. It was terrible and beautiful. So sad, but very what the fuck. I didn't realise that he died till Vash said it so calmly in the next chapter. Was anti climatic for one. I had to go back and look at the page for clarification. And I don't know what happened. But man, it was horrible. And WOlfwood seemed really ok too. I thought he'd die in volume 11, not 10. What a surprise. I can't believe he's gone. I can't believe we didn't see Vash crying about it more. But then again.. Wolfie did leave the world ina bit of a peaceful state.. perhaps? I don't know... he burst into a scream and crying before he died. I don't know what happened. :(

And that's that.

Um... today at Kino Sam pointed THIS out to me. It's "Passion"

From the producers of the wildly popular "A Night In Fantasia", comes "Passion", a smaller more intimate concert series that also brings to life the memorable themes of Anime and Video Games. With performances scheduled in Melbourne and Singapore this summer Passion makes its Sydney stop on December, 16th for 2 performances (3pm and 7:30) in Verbrugghen Hall, at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Passion features unique and innovative arrangements from classic games such as Final Fantasy XII, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and even Super Mario Bros along with music from some of the most loved Japanese and American animated movies of all time.

Passion' is performed by a small ensemble of Sydney's top young musicians and features two outstanding and award winning violinists Ayako Ishikawa and Hiroaki Yura's. They are backed by a vibrant and accomplished supporting cast, consisting of Natalia Raspopova (piano), Zane Banks (guitar) and Josh Hill (percussion). As an added bonus in attendance will be two of the most respected and renowned game composers of today, Yasunore Mitusda (Chrono Series, Xenogears) and Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy tactics and Final Fantasy XII). Mitsuda will delight the crowd by playing bouzouki on a select number of titles, and fans will be able to take part in a meet and greet with both composers after the performance.

For the last 3 years the Eminence Orchestra has been changing the perception of live symphonic music in Australia by performing material written for the gaming generation. Past shows have included "A Night in Fantasia", which involves the full orchestra, and has become the most anticipated event of the year from Eminence Orchestra. With the rapid increase of technology, gaming music no longer consists of simple bleeps and chirps, as traditionally trained composers are being used to provide the backing for today's biggest gaming titles. Like the music of Broadway and classic movies of the past, gaming and anime tunes have become the sound tracks of this generation. People young and old will enjoy this unique and entertaining experience, all while helping to support local independent musicians.

And I nearly wet my pants when I saw the list of things being performed. Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Tsubasa Chronicle, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII, Xenosaga, Haibane Renmei, Shadow of the Colossus, Super Mario Bros., .hack//Liminality and many more.
ORGASM! FF! XENOSAGA! HAIBANE RENMEI!! SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS! OMG OMG OMG!!!!

Exciting. And Yasunore Mitusda will be there. That was just the icing on the cake because I love Xenogears music.
We are sitting second row from the front, dead center. I don't know if that is good or bad. I don't know how high the stage is, and if we'll see anyting at all.
But we couldn't really get seats a few rows back because it was in a certain order and we got in early and hardly any seats were taken up at all. Anyway,... I hope it'll be good seating. I'm so chuffed. Was the best impulse buy I've made in a while.

I can't really even remember what I was upset about now. So that is nice. :)

I went to Galaxy World today for the first time. Played DDR and a shooter game and motorbike racing. Everytime I go into an arcade game place it reminds me of the Gold Saucer, lol!

I went into some awesome toilets today. The walls were orgasmic. They had a pearl sheen to them. And I got really scared. I saw a massive net cafe. It was.. terrifying. It reminded me of the Doctor Who episode School Reunion. All these people sitting at desks, plugged in. Eep. I took photos. Will upload later.

Other than that... I am addicted to House M.D. Ahahaha! Yes.. I love watching it. Hugh Laurie is great in it, and I'm even getting over his American Accent. I don't see why people call House an uncarying heartless bastard. He has ample compassion. He does things because he cares about the patience. I think that's pretty glaring obvious. Not sure that I see this bitter and self loathing side of him. People always tell him that he is grumpy and uhappy. Sure he is... but... I can't explain it. I don't see it being as bad as they make it out. I have a lot of criticism about House. The glass walls for one. The fact that it's like CSI but in a hospital. The fact that the stories are always so linear. Patient gets ill, House diagnoses them, something else goes wrong, they go through various different possibilities, they administer medicin without knowing it'll work, patient has a seizure, House watches TV and has an epiphany and VOILA. patient survives. It's always the same. Houses' posse always say the same things. And yet it is fun to watch. Although some of the medical stuff is explicit and it makes me squirm in my seat.. I don't like needles really.
And House and Wilson are OTP, hehehehehe!

JA NE!
