On tweets and turns, or cards and credibility...

...so, the return of the WSOP in a minute, but first, this not-at-all important announcement:

Senta Moses has joined the soul-sucking ranks of Twitter! But her soul has not been sucked...much...yet...but she's getting there, don't worry!

Now, I know what the 1 regular reader will say: "But Jax, how can you be sure it's her?" Like I said in that post, there are generally clues to tip off that a celeb's the real deal. One of those clues, which I overlooked in that post, is recognition by other people that are in position to know whether it's the real deal or not. In Senta's case, two of those in the know that are following her are Michael C. Foster, aka Cappie's dad; and Aynsley Bubbico, part of the extended sorority on Greek. Since they followed her, I believe 'em. So, welcome Senta Moses to Twitter! And follow her! I should not have more followers than she does.

Anyway...yes, folks, it's that time of year again...the World Series of Poker has begun! Plenty of large storylines this year, starting with the "Poker Player's Championship", the first "open" game of the Series. Well, it's open if you pony up $50,000 to buy in, of course! It is a re-vamped version of the $50K HORSE championship in the last few years, and they're going for the same hardware: The winner gets the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

But the big hype of the WSOP is that this year is the first year Norwegian phenom Annette Obrestad is legally allowed to compete in Vegas at the WSOP. Her first big exposure was winning the WSOP Europe Main event...in 2007, at the age of 18 years, 364 days. She's also made an EPT final table, and made her US soil debut at the NBC Heads-Up championship, getting beat by Doyle Brunson in the 3rd round. Her debut, however, won't be until mid-week; she's currently at home celebrating her mother's birthday. (And I know this from following her on--where else?-- Twitter! She has the same name as her online poker accounts...)

So, anyway, WSOP updates start up here on Friday, or follow me on Twitter to see them approximately when they happen!
