1. [untitled] - leoxing - WRITTEN BY donichikon

Leo enjoyed cold nights. He spent most of them in the woods, sitting in open grassy areas and letting the wind blow against his face. It was relaxing and would probably put him to sleep if he needed any. He’s been waiting at the spot for about half an hour now and still no sign of anyone. He’s supposed to be hunting, but there hasn’t been any prey so far. He decides that he should wait a little longer before moving on to another spot.

Just then, he hears a distanced rustle in the bushes. He focuses his senses, trying to figure out just what he’s heard. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.
A wolf?

He takes another breath and starts coughing, the scent makes him sick to his stomach.

He sheds off his long coat and licks at his teeth. He unsheathes his fangs and sprints towards the direction of the scent. It leads him deep into the woods and he moves as quickly and silently as possible. In a few moments, he finds the creature. He can feel his blood boiling and stomach churning at the beast before him. It looks up and starts sniffing the air. Leo can tell that it can sense his presence.

Without any time to spare, he lunges and tackles the wolf to the ground. They fall into a grapple and Leo fights to overpower the wolf nearly twice his size. The wolf strikes his face with its paw and causes him to stagger. Before he’s even landed on the ground, the wolf is already above him, bearing its teeth to his face.

Leo was so sure that his 674 years of undead life was about to end until he feels the paws on this arms shift into hands, and the wolf above him shift back into a man.

“Taekwoon.”

“Yixing?”

Leo jolts up and pushes Yixing off of him. He leaps backwards, keeping a gap in between him and his old friend. He stares at the dirt at his feet, not wanting to see Yixing’s naked body in front of him. He doesn’t know how to feel. He feels elated because Yixing is standing before him but disgusted because he was a werewolf.

“I told you not to call me that anymore.”
“Yeah, well no one calls me Yixing anymore either. Not since I changed. My name is Lay now.”

“I haven’t seen you in over 600 years. You died. When the fuck did this happen?”
Lay just smiles and walks to a nearby tree, pulling a knapsack down from one of its branches. He pulls out a fresh set of clothes and puts them.

“Well? Aren’t you going to answer me?”

Lay dusts off his clothes and crosses his arms.

“You can look at me now. God, it’s not like you’ve never seen a penis before. You have one too, Taekwoon.”

Leo looks up with an irritated look on his face. The nerve of this… this dog! Leo sits down on the ground with a thud, running a hand through his hair in disbelief. He breathes in again and starts gagging. All he could smell was Lay. He covers his mouth and nose with a handkerchief and tries not to choke at the disgusting scent.

“I’m sorry. Your smell- I can’t stand your scent.”
“I’m not fond of the way you smell either, Taekwoon. You reek of vampire.”
Lay sits down across him and shoots him a warm smile. He didn’t quite know what that smile was supposed to mean but it somehow comforted him. On the bright side of things, he had his old friend back. Despite the fact that he was now what he hated the most.

“Did you know I was trying to kill you?” Leo asked.

Lay was playing with the grass in front of him, just running his hands through it and pulling off a few blades for no reason. He almost looked innocent to Leo for a moment but it was only a few minutes ago that Lay was moments away from killing him.

“Of course, I did. But you know, you kinda suck at that. I pretty much had your ass in my hands. You’re lucky it was me and not Kris. He probably would’ve killed you before he even looked at you.”

Leo scoffed.

“674 years is long enough.”

“I have to go now, Taekwoon. I don’t want my brothers finding you.”

Lay turns around to leave but suddenly slams into the tree his knapsack was hanging onto. Leo has him pinned against it, with his wrists being held down by Leo’s impossible grip. He can feel Leo’s fangs against his neck and panic surges through his veins. He struggles against him and lets out a whimper when Leo’s grip tightens even more.

“Looks like your ass is mine this time.” Leo whispers into his ear, sending a shiver down his spine.

Suddenly, Leo lets go and when Lay turns around, he’s already gone. He rubs the spot Leo’s fangs were on and shudders.

“That sneaky son of a bitch.”

When the pimp's in the crib, ma
Drop it like it's hot, drop like it's hot!

Wu Fan had taken the advantage of his grandfather's vacation in China by blaring out his playlist through a bunch of old speakers. The antique shop boomed with the bass, and the hanging plates and paintings against the walls shook with it. Of course, Wu Fan wasn't that much of a disobedient grandson. While listening to his favorite rap song, he sweeped the shop's floors and polished all the antiques, while his grandfather's Sharpay, Jongdae, lazily lounged about on his back the couch.

"When you're done, can we go out for hot pot?" Jongdae asked, rubbing his belly with stumpy paws. "When are you going to finish anyway?"

"In about thirty minutes," Wu Fan said, sweeping behind one of the large wooden tables. "I would be able to finish earlier if you helped, you know."

"Hmm," Jongdae gave helping the teenager a thought but remembered that required so much work and moving. He just wasn't in the mood for that today. "Nah."

"What's Grandpa doing back in Guangzhou again?" Wu Fan asked when he reached the counter and saw a torn white envelope, the word 'URGENT' stamped on the front with red ink. He looked inside of it, curious about the content but found nothing.

"He's there for this meeting about wild creatures from the magical world escaping to the human world," Jongdae stretched and yawned, rolling on his belly for more comfort.

Wu Fan shook his head and took a wet rag from the cart of cleaning supplies next to him. "Huh. Weird. We haven't had any cases like those in a while but  they're having a conference about it?"

"Well, your magical senses aren't as honed as mine, so don't worry about it."

Wu Fan rolled his eyes. At least I get ample physical exercise.

Suddenly, Jongdae's phone rang and the dog, after scratching his back a few times, answered it. "Hello?"

"Jongdae, there's a unicorn on the loose." An old man's voice echoed through the speaker.

"Now?" Jongdae complained.

"Yes, now!" The old man on the other end sounded irritated. "Aiya! Is that hiphop I hear? Tell Fan to stop with the music right now and get to that unicorn!"

Jongdae grumbled under his breath and slowly rolled off the couch, almost completely falling off. "I got it, old man. Don't you worry."

"Jongdae--!" The old man continues to ramble on the other end, this time in fast and angry Chinese. Jongdae spared this no second thought and moved the phone away from his folded ear.

"Uh, Wu Fan," Jongdae called and still kept the phone at a distance. The old man sure could talk. "Your grandpa says we have a unicorn on the loose right now."

"It's not just any unicorn! Aiya, Jongdae! It is a royal unicorn!"

"Yeah, royal unicorn, whatever. Got it."

"You must be careful! It is of royal lineage! It is too sweet and innocent for the human wo--"

"YES, WE GOT IT. CALL YOU LATER," Jongdae pressed the dial button so all the incessant yelling and whining could just stop.

The dog noticed that the teenager wasn't responding. He walked deeper into the house to find that the boy had worn a pink apron and yellow gloves and was scrubbing the toilet. Wu Fan even wore a hairnet to boot.

"Hey, Fanderella. We have a royal unicorn on the loose, so if you could take off the housemaker's costume, that'd be great," Jongdae said and untangled the knot of the apron on Wu Fan's back with his teeth.

"Just here around town?" Wu Fan inquired, taking off his gloves and hairnet casually. Catching a unicorn shouldn't be so hard, he thought. He's captured other creatures with smaller tempers before like leprechauns and pixies, so a demure and reserved unicorn shouldn't be so much of a problem for the Canadian dragon.

"I'm assuming. Let's go so we can get hot pot after," Jongdae answered making his way through the doggy door at the shops entrance.

Wu Fan quickly transformed into a black dragon, around eight feet tall with talons, fangs and claws. He kept his wing folded inside but quickly unfolded them to pick up Jongdae from outside and to fly to the sky. Luckily, his voice was still normal despite his scary and scaly other-worldly appearance.

A gust of wind passed, bringing a few leaves and a strand of silver hair. Jongdae grabbed the strand and took a whiff of it. After a few more sniffles, Jongdae looked left and right to track the scent.

"There!" he said, pointing to the east and towards the city's public park.

Wu Fan flew to the location, enjoying the breeze that would go through his wings. He made sure to pass between buildings quickly, so as not to be seen and confuse the human beings dwelling below. Sometime Wu Fan wished that he didn't need to transform into a dragon to fly; he wished he could do as a human and not as a big scary beast. And more often than not, sometimes he wished he wasn't a dragon at all. He often daydreamed of being a normal teenager, hanging out with his friends, having time to do his homework and maybe even to fall in love.

He shook his head.

Love would have to wait and it's a fact proven to Wu Fan by personal experience. It may not have been a series of personal experiences but one was enough to teach him about love.

"I think I see it," Wu Fan whispered as he spotted an odd speck of lavender running through the park. He flew closer to the ground for better inspection of the magical creature and saw that it attracted the attention of a few young women, tearing them away from their lovers who were on a date. Only the young women and the little girls among the humans could see him, but this made it all the more easier for Wu Fan and Jongdae to inconspicuously catch the unicorn.

Just when he swooped down lower to catch it between his claws, the unicorn dodged and entered through the park's man-made forest, swiftly running through the trees with agility. Wu Fan hissed and still flew after it, damaging a tree or two along the way.

This is a fast one, he thought. Going closer and flying side-by-side with the running unicorn, he noticed that it quickly turned its head and smiled. What was more remarkable about the unicorn was its dimple when it smiled. Wu Fan knew that dimple anywhere and decided he would be more aggressive with this chase.

"Hey, hey! Slow down! I'm still digesting that sloppy joe from lunch!" Jongdae cried while holding onto Wu Fan for dear life-- or as much as his stubby paws could hold on to.

"No. Not this time," Wu Fan gritted his teeth, and flew high above before flying down and closing in on the unicorn with extreme speed. Fortunately, Jongdae landed on a pile of bushes when he fell off the dragon but Wu Fan tumbled with the unicorn, both magical creatures transforming into human beings.

Wu Fan had finally caught him. "Yixing." he whispered under his breath, staring at the brown-haired boy pinned below him.

"Wu Fan," Yixing responded flashing him a smile with his trademark dimple. "I forgot that you lived here."

Lies. He spent his whole highschool education here, pretending to be a human because his parents believed that human education would teach their crowned prince unicorn about inter-species interactions.

"More like you forgot about me."

"Is that any way to treat your guest?" Yixing frowned. "I don't think it's polite to pin your friends to the ground and restrain their movements."

"Friends?!" Wu Fan spat and stood up, letting go of Yixing's wrist, which now had red handmarks around them. He laughed bitterly. "Of course, friends."

Yixing stood up by himself, Wu Fan offering no help at all. He dusted his clothes off of any leaves or twigs and rubbed his wrists. Wu Fan's tight and angry grip and the hours of running had finally caught on to his limbs.

"I don't think you understood what happened a year ago," Yixing said while Wu Fan stared at him, arms crossed over his chest.

"You're right. I don't because you didn't even bother to explain-- because you left without a freaking word," Wu Fan argued.

"I was going to tell you! But no, apparently, you've been seeking comfort with Zitao!"

"We're just friends. That's not a valid excuse, Yixing. You know as well as I do it isn't," Wu Fan sighed and turned on his heel. "Just... Let's just get you back to the magical realm and forget anything ever happened."

Yixing bit his lip as he watched Wu Fan walk away with his head down and hands in his pockets. "I'm getting married."

Wu Fan stopped in his tracks and turned around again. "What?"

"I'm getting married, okay? It's part of these stupid magical rules, or whatever," Yixing explained, twiddling with his fingers. He was never good at talking and Wu Fan could just imagine how much tears the boy could be holding behind his eyes while talked.

"To who?"

"Joonmyeon."

Wu Fan's hand balled into a fist at the memory of Joonmyeon, the sweet-faced fairy prince of the magical realm. He may seem nice and angelic but he's committed more smuggling of fairy dust and magical mushrooms than any other royal on the throne. Wu Fan and his grandfather have been trying to catch that fairy in the act but Joonmyeon's always managed to fool them, always being a step or two ahead.

"You weren't supposed to know. I didn't want to hurt you," Yixing blinked tears. "I came here because I didn't want to get married to him. I thought this would be a good place to hide since you, your grandfather and your pig are the only notable magical creatures here."

"I would never h-hurt you, W-Wu Fan," Yixing's sniffles had finally caught Wu Fan's heart, hook, line and sinker. The taller male walked towards the him and hugged him tightly.

"I know," Wu Fan whispered into his wavy brown locks. "You have to go back, Xing."

"I-I don't want to go back!" Yixing cried into Wu Fan's chest. "I don't like him! He pulled on my tail and tried to cut off my horn!"

Wu Fan pulled away and looked into Yixing's gleaming brown eyes. "He did?" He held Yixing's face and kissed the middle of the unicorn's forehead. "But it's a beautiful horn. It's one of your best features."

Yixing blushed and tried to look away. He missed the feeling of being in the dragon's arms. Being in them felt like he had eternal and invincible protection from anything. Wu Fan's warmth was something he could never trade anything for. The feeling of belonging in his arm was greater than any other form of bliss than Joonmyeon or anyone else could ever provide him with.

In the middle of their long hug, Jongdae rolled out of a bush, twigs and leaves stuck to his fur. He looked crankier than ever, walking on his hand legs towards the couple.

"Hey! I heard everything!" He cried. "Well, almost."

Wu Fan and Yixing pulled apart to look at the dog waddling towards them in a zigzag pattern. Poor thing must have gotten such a big hit.

"I am not a pig!"

"Right. Just a fat, lazy dog," Wu Fan snickered and helped Jongdae clear himself of any debris. He pet the Sharpay's head and pretended that he was just a normal dog when the sharpay got on all fours.

"Listen, Xing. If you need me, I'll be here I promise," Wu Fan took Yixing's face in his hand again and stuck his forehead to his. "But if you really can't take it anymore, you can always come to me. I promised to protect you always, remember?"

Yixing nodded and looked dreamily into Wu Fan's piercing eyes. He closed the distance between them for a soft kiss. "I know, just... Let me stay here for the day."

Wu Fan nodded, persuaded by the rushing feelings of love that coursed through his veins. It was as if his whole body and being was destined to be with Yixing.

----------------

Three months later, Wu Fan took a walk in the same park he had last encountered Yixing. That day, three months ago, Yixing had unwillingly returned to the magical realm to face his fate as Joonmyeon's spouse, much to Wu Fan's dismay. Even if Wu Fan tried to convince his heart to be at ease, it still felt like a huge part of him was missing and he knew that it was Yixing who could only fit in that empty space.

His grandfather came back the next day and commended him on the capture of Prince Yixing, but it wasn't something Wu Fan was proud of.

Wu Fan felt his phone vibrate in the pocket of skinny jeans. He fished it out with a little difficulty (big hands and all) and saw that the call was from Jongdae.

"Hello?"

"Emergency."

"What is it?"

"Unicorn on the loose."
