Got drunk the other night, started off with enough for three bottles, put the change from the first one into the pokie machine and won three more bottles worth, then got given another two bottles worth by Crazy - the lead guitarist of the band I was there to listen to. Apparently they like people who can match them in terms of body movement during good Metallica songs. Fish LURV good, loud Metallica, and can head bang pretty damned well thankyouverymuch. :3
So anyways, apparently 8 Smirnoff Ices can give me a hangover that lasts a whole day. :/ I've become a lightweight ;_; Missed that day of work, which I'd be more upset about but... meh, work :P I suspect the water I was drinking may have been a little old, I got better fairly quickly after I had to get a new bottle.
Anyways, enough about the consequences of mine actions, and more about the actions! The band, Albonia, do all sorts of good Heavy Metal. They're rather heavily biased towards music over lyrics, but their singers can do the words well. The fella doing the singing really did good on Nothing Else Matters, which I haven't really been able to listen to at full volume for quite a while. It was about that song that I got the free drinks I think, or the one before? Anyways, they did Hero Of The Day too! :D Great music, great time, bad hangover, totally worth it.
Then the DJ came out, one guy tried to teach me how to do a bit more than shuffle and bob (which I revert to with songs I don't know). It's all in the footwork apparently, which is how I came to be lying on the ground, rolled over by a wall out of the way of the couple on the dance floor, and texting Llama to tell her how great it all was. Then a hot chick offered me a hand up and tried to continue the dancing lesson. Dancing is all about the footwork and how much of your body you can keep in contact with the other person, apparently. No more falling down, but around 2am or something I decided it was time to wander 'home' (across the road and into the back of the Hilux). Good times :D
Got downgraded from Duty Manager status at work. I'd been planning on telling the boss I wasn't ready for DM stuff, but she beat me to it. Imagine immense relief on both sides when we realised we were both thinking the same thing XD At the risk of sounding bad after missing a day to a hangover type event, I really don't like the work ethic of most people I work with :/ I think I already mentioned that, but I'll mention my biggest pet hate.
There's one chick here who seems to think a Sandwich Artist should work with abstract forms. Cheese is all over the place, meats aren't well placed, toasted subs have half the cheese melted onto the paper, way too much of all the salads so the sub won't close, and everything is usually piled too close to the seam so the sub won't close anyway. It got so bad we actually had to throw out and remake four subs she did because they were just... well.. fucked. :/
That out of the way, day off tomorrow! :3 And must remember Hilux goes in for WoF at ten. ^_^'
