I realize...

That I don't utilize this website as much as I should. And I think I am going to remedy this especially since my new job allows for from free time in the afternoons. I think this is because the previous contractor who had my position didn't really do anything or from what I have gathered didn't do things in a timely matter.

I will say that I love my new job, I am currently working as a contractor at Dupont's Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE. It is funny to say that I love this job because I feel like I have tried to hard to get away from here and not end up back in Delaware but at the same time most of the jobs I have had that really interest me or that I have truly enjoyed have been here. I am learning a new direction that has to do in a round about way with my love of Plant-Insect interactions. I am more on the plant side this time, I am learning about the molecular advances that promote drought and cold resistance in agricultural crops. YEAH Molecular! I am sure there are some of you who are going to yell about genetically altering food crops but that isn't what this is about, it is about creating better yields so we use less energy, and protect farmers from crop failure which drives up prices and can lead to the selling and development of our farm lands (or atleast that is how I like to think about it).

I grew up in the country and come from generations of farmers so doing this atleast makes me feel like I giving back to the people who raised me. I think that is why I do this (other than being unreasonably passionate about it at times), I like the idea of doing something that gives back... cheesy I know but it makes me feel worth while. I don't believe in just being a waste to the human existence, but that is a discussion for another time.

Anyways, lunch is over, need to get back to plating, but there is your little update.
