Art stuff and Glee thoughts

Apr 27, 2011 13:57

Oops. This is what I get for not watching comms of challenges I join, almost forgot that the spn_cinema posting time was coming up soon D: So, more SPN art coming up on May 1! Now I just need to actually finish the piece...

Anyone have links to good screencaps of Athosian clothing on SGA, other than Teyla's? Male clothing, specifically.

Also coming up, more Glee art. Speaking of Glee, last night's one and a half hour long episode was mostly really fun, except for the parts that made me want to slap the writers upside the head. But that's par for the course with this frustratingly up and down show. Also, I know now why it needed to be one and a half hours long, it was so they could show half an hour's worth of ads :/

More thoughts:

Kurt's back with New DIrections \o/ That solo was beautifully sung and the picturization was lovely. I'm a little surprised they kept the whole thing in the episode, it was pretty long, but whatever. I missed his crazy outfits and his dancing ♥

The mall dancing was ridiculously fun. I really dislike the song Born This Way and its stupid beat and faily lyrics, but they performed it really well.

The courtyard scene was sweet and really well sung and I loved all of the hugs and the "I'll never say goodbye to you" from Kurt to Blaine.

Santana was very Santana-like and honestly, she's not written like she's supposed to be a nice person, so I might not like the things she says, but I enjoy the hell out of her scenes. The ending was kind of sad and in-character.

What Lauren did was mean, but given that it was followed up with a sincere apology (which I'm hard-pressed to find for most crappy things pulled by other characters) and she didn't get rewarded for behaving badly, it wasn't too bad. She's an entertaining character, although I must say, Quinn's backstory read kind of like fanfic. Remember how she was pregnant in season 1? I think she'd have more than enough issues from then without making up something like this. Also, everyone who ships Quinn/Rachel hardcore and is hating on Lauren for what she did to poor innocent Quinn, um, remember how Quinn treated Rachel for a very very long time? I don't remember any apologies there.

I wanted to cuddle Rachel. The whole thing was nicely acted by Michele, and I thought that Pretty/Un-pretty mashup was done really well on both their parts.

I can't believe how much I'm liking Puck these last few episodes. Ever since his Lauren storyline started, I've been loving him, she should always stick around. Because my main reaction towards Puck in every other episode has usually been to want him off of my screen. His scenes with both Lauren and Puck were nice.

Did not dislike Finn even once this whole episode. It's been a while since that happened. Keep up the sweetness, Finn!

Tina and Mike are MFEO. Tina, keep singing and Mike, keep dancing ♥

Will Shuster is a douchebag. His t-shirt should have said "Bad Person". But then, if he had that self-awareness, he wouldn't be Will SHuster. Why is he still a teacher and why is him and Emma supposed to be sweet and romantic? He's inefficient and judgmental and ugh. Do not approve >:(

I would have been more ok with Karofsky's redemption story line if he hadn't followed up the kiss (which I do count as some measure of assault on Kurt given their past interactions, but was unpremeditated) and death threat (which could be counted as a panicked reaction that he didn't mean literally) with the clearly calculated creepiness of the wink and the finger-thing and the cake topper stealing. He was always an unpleasant character, but at least the self-hating homosexual homophobe learning to accept himself/regret his actions would have been more palatable if it hadn't been accompanied with major creepiness and signs of not being remorseful for any of it at all. As it stands, I know they have to wind up that storyline, but I just don't want to see more of him.

Why are all the adults at the school so inefficent and stupid? Students should not be the ones to have to make it safe for other students. That's what teachers and principals, adults are for!

Next week looks like it should be fun. I'm looking forward to it :D

blather, glee
