Happy 4th of July, guys :) An excellent day and finally weather to match it too. I could do without the plethora of Independence day sales though, which, like Memorial day sales seem just a tad inappropriate.

• Have signed up for startrekbigbang More artists needed, go sign up!
• Got my learner's permit. Now to actually learn how to drive *bites nails*
• My nephew is at his laughing and burbling nonsense stage. It is so damn adorable I don't want to leave him for a second. Would probably work better if we lived in the same city :(
• Generalizations annoy me. That's right, all generalizations annoy me. Ok, so that's the only generalization that doesn't annoy me. So I guess my generalization isn't quite a generalization by virtue of...you know what? Never mind :/
• I just stuck my tongue out and actually made neener neener sounds at a stupid post on friendsfriends. I don't quite know what to do with that.
• When it comes to political discussions, I feel like I'm at the back of the class whining "but why can't everybody just get aloooong?" which is a perfectly valid albeit completely useless statement. But all the intelligent thoughts (yes, sometimes I even have some of those!) somehow dry out on most occasions and I feel like that time when I participated in a debate in sixth grade and forgot three quarters of my very amazing points and swore very audibly into the microphone and made an astounding fool of myself. However, it does not take a whole lot of intellectual acuity to say that if I never see another screed about how all Conservatives are misogynistic, racist, homophobic bastards in some way, it will be too soon (blah blah "oh but the other side does it too!!" but given that I don't have much interest in reading/much reason to read a whole bunch of very conservative blogs and given how much time I spend on LJ, that is a particular frustration I do not have to face often)

Ok, to end on a nice note, here's an article about India's recent court decision decriminalizing homosexuality. The article's ok (I do not recommend reading the comments), I linked it mainly for the two really sweet pictures of couples celebrating the decision. Change is slow but hopefully it really is a portent of good things to come.
