try that on a horse!
First unit in gym: archery. the wonderful art of shooting arrows. an art that i have never tried my hand at. we have these wooden bow thingies, styrofoam targets and plastic/metal/wood arrows. I'm in this gym class where we focus on sports like tennis, pickleball, ping pong, bowling, golf, archery, ect. nothing where you need 8 other people. like basketball and soccer (i hate team sports). the funny thing is that the ratio of guys:girls is like, 6:1. eek. but that's okay but cuz i'm in a group with a group of guy friends who i know pretty well. it was hilarious because i've never touched a bow before. and my team got last dibs so we got this really crappy bow. i'd be standing, trying to pull the string back and aim while the arrow keeps sliding off. it was hard, but fun. I did it all wrong, so this random guy who i've never seen or talked to comes up and tries help me. man, was i bad! i guess he was the anonymous appointed instructor. he helps me set the bow up and teaches me how to shoot it. and it still doesn't work. so he ends up having to stand behind me and shoot it with me. i actually got a bull's eye, according to my friends. That was the last time i was to hit the target, but it was still awesome. i managed to fire 3 arrows and have them land within 10 foot radius of the target. i'm proud.
speaking of, all the guys who were shorter than me last year must have taken kind of growth stimulant drug, cuz they sprouted like weeds. i know guys do mature later than girls, but growing 4 inches is two months is bizzare. and you don't really notice it cuz your mental image of them is still 'short'. like i was walking with my buddy when i turned to talk to him and realized that i had to look... up. way weird. i was tied @ tallest in fifth grade. last year i was average. if this keeps going, i'm gonna be the 'short' one by the time i graduate!
being persistant and doing homework on time. nice change for once.
my headset came in today! yay got to try out the karaoke thing. first song i played in game was perfect because it was the only i recognized out of the list for garage mode. on Volume 3, i got a perfect score on My Immortal on my first try. I've played it so many times on piano that it's almost muscle memory. and i sing along when i'm alone so i'm almost pro. ^_~
