well I'm back! Was back yesterday around midday actually but I haven't been bothered coming on until I started missing-.... ah i shouldn't finish that.
I'm alive ^^ Gosh it was so much fun. Being a patrol leader seemed harder this time. OH.. and omg it's so tragic. I lost my voice on Tuesday! So I couldn't really shout at my girls, and I couldn't sing at campfires!! *cries* I'm actually really sad about it. I still haven't gotten my voice completely back.... goddamn I wanna sing SO badly...
I think it got worse at it poured down on Wednesday night and being a good leader I ran down to campsite and put all our shoes into the tent in case they did get wet (although we put them under the roof/covered part).
I won't go into the whole camp though. Highlights were:
Commando course! Finished the monkey bars, had really painful abs and ribs and arms after that for a few days (and as I got sick from the rain, coughing was that little bit more painful). Also tied with the fastest time for a girl (39s) so I got a badge to wear on my uniform saying "Scout Extremist" with a mushroom cloud in the background, lol :)
Hike walking through/down the river xD
My task that I had to do to try to get my 'Experienced Scout' rank. I had to interview everyone at camp, as their name, age, hobbies. But also without them knowing I had to do a personality profile of everyone, and say who they were and weren't compatible with at camp and why. I spent a full day on Thursday doing it, by hand. Gave in my 12 page report around 1830 with many raised eyebrows in surprise/amazement/being impressed ^-^ I was quite proud of my work. Learnt lots of interesting things too.
Inter-patrol comp. In short: lowering and lifting a person down to the river; wading through a waste high river in full clothes; bush cooking our lunch; having the best lashings out of all the other patrols; being the only patrol to find the 'enemy' hiding in the bushes; pitching up a little tent in under 10min; and pretty much failing the first aid part. Lol.
Left the best bits to last!
I got my experienced rank!!! Get to wear a cool looking green sash over my shoulder now ^^ now me, the other two guys and another girl are forming a new patrol, the Grey Geese, and just the 4 of us are going to go camping on a weekend in early Feb. I feel so accepted x)
AND
I was voted hardest working scout! Got a little swiss army knife as a prize. Always wanted one!
AND!!!
My patrol won!!! I tried so hard to get them to do their best. and through all the tears, stress and sleepless nights, we pulled through with a victory only 5.5 points ahead of the guys.
So that's it ^^ I'm very very happy with this camp. I feel so...accomplished. Gosh I was sleepy yesterday, couldn't keep my eyes open. I guess all the missed hours of sleep caught up... At camp I went to sleep around 10:30 each night, except two nights when I had night patrol till 12, and then on the last night were I wanted to sit around the fire till 1.... But I slept in till 8 today ^^
Tomorrow! Study! ^_____^ 10 days left, I know one day will be spent working from 10-6, another day I'm going to the Fish Markets (you know, I think I might miss that) and another day Belinda wants us all to come to her house. Just counted how many hours a day I study- 10 :) From about 9am till roughly 9pm because of breaks.
It's so nice to listen to my music.... didn't have spare time at all at camp.
Last night I had this really nice dream... First day back at school. Not the first time I've had a dream like this either these holidays. First time seeing each other after such a break. Woke up feeling so nice until I realised I'm still on holidays.... bah I'm gonna stop or I'll cry....
Just to finish this on a good topic- my friend at camp taught me sorta how to draw anime! Been practicing a little bit, doesn't look as good as what others draw but it's something. I should figure out my own 'style'. Just been drawing eyes, lol.
I think I've exhausted all the news I have... can't wait till first day back. 11 days. 28th. It'll have a big red circle drawn around it.
