Terrific idea! When I've written British characters I've obsessed much about whether a sofa is a sofa there as well as the US, and all kinds of other tiny details. I think the online British-US dictionary I used to use is gone now.
I've been writing Supernatural fic lately, and it's a lot more natural.
I live in the US, and have lived in 3 different regions (or 4, if you don't count Ohio as Midwest -- Ohioans do, but I'm not sure Midwesterners do). I've lived in Ohio (24 years), New York City (20 years), northern Idaho (which is sorta western, sorta Northwest), and Wisconsin. I've picked up a little slang or localisms from all the places I've lived, so I can help with slang and regionalisms, regional foods, grocery chains etc.
My flist is huge and my leisure time is short, so if any of you asks a question here that I seem to ignore, just nudge me.
