Music Meme, Day 8
Today's prompt is "A song about drugs or alcohol". I actually found this quite difficult, particularly if the interpretation of "about" is fairly strict (The Drugs Don't Work, for example, is about terminal illness). I ended up here in the end, which is much more clearly a song about, well, both really:
It took me about fifteen seconds from "I'm going to end up with an Oasis song aren't I?" to getting here. I mean, it's their best (this or The Masterplan, which is much less relevant), and one of pretty few songs that I've consistently loved from first hearing to the present day. Also, it happens to fit the prompt which is, you know, nice. I went with the album version of the song over the live videos from Knebworth or similar because I prefer the slightly slower album edit to the faster one (with excessively long self-indulgent guitar solo) that's usually how it was performed live.
