Damn really? Sorry to hear it bella.... Did the entire company close, or they just rid of a shit load of people (after they pretty much made you do everything anyway, right?)
Yeah, Long Beach. I start moving in this weekend. Oddly enough, it's in the same 4-plex apartment complex as Los & Jessie. Huge back yard- and perfect for me and the kitty. You should definitely come and hang sometime. :0)
Oh that's okay >_< I saw it coming. The entire company did NOT close. They're working on an MTV show, so those people are staying at least through that. I hope for their own sakes that they make it through this slump, but they're going to have to start over... I pretty much did everything, but with no one really there and no projects other than the MTV show, what's the point? It was so bad that they can't even give me my severence check for a couple more weeks - they're waiting on payment from MTV. WTF. Ariella helped me apply for unemployment. So at least I'll be getting something. If you hear of any good project management jobs, let me know.
Is rent affordable, then? Did you PLAN to live near them?? LOL! How fun!
Well I suppose at least you're getting some money... but that's gotta be rough. Especially since I know you loved that job.... I'll keep an eye out, but I don't really know of anyone in the project managment business except, well you... :0) Have you tried just doing a general Google Search for Project Management + Los Angeles, and seeing what you find?
Rent is about $1,000 a month. Not as cheap as I want it, but I now have a living room and a bedroom, plus a real kitchen, so I'm not bitchin. I've wanted to move to Long Beach for a few years now (prob about 2) and I just got a itch to make a drastic change- so done. It just happened that an apartment in their 4-plex opened when I called them to tell them I was coming down to look!
Not yet. I'm still going to be working at the Temple because I would be stupid not to. It's a day job, and it pays well, so I think I'll be ok with the commute.
I'm still working at a bar in downtown Fullerton but I hate it (I've only been there for 6 mos and although the regular customers are awesome, the management itself is wack as hell)... so I'm looking for a bartending gig in LB... soon as I get settled in. :0)
haha... I hear there are tons out there- with these cans I'm sure I could make a bunch of money too! :0)
I'm thinking I might find a nightclub job two or three nights a week... if I can find the right place, it should supplement my income perfectly... fingers crossed....
you know... if you're still bored. :0)
How long are you off of work anyway?

Wow. Well, gaining a living room and kitchen is a plus! Do you work in LB as well?
