des moines, iowa

so jenny and i made it out of chicago and drove to des moines to stay with jim turner's brother jon and his family.  we went to this street fair last night for the neighborhood called beaverdale daze.  jenny had rum and cokes and i drank two margueritas (sp?) with jon.  we danced and ate funnel cake.  today we slept in and then toured des moines and saw where jim grew up.  so strange and surreal.  we are drinking wine and eating cheese now preparing for dinner.  jon and his wife nancy have a daughter, sophie, who is 16 and can't be bothered with anyone its funny.  so happy to be not 16.  just still pining for chicago a bit and for a lovely fellow who is still there. tomorrow we will wander through to south dakota.  trying to keep my wits about me (tara you know what i mean) can't even say what i've been thinking or feeling.
