More sims!

Ilana got a new job fairly quickly, and was promoted to Intern on her first day! I can only assume that she was working to sabotage the first campaign she was with. That must be it. She complains when she has to clean. She brought a friend home from work, and a possible promotion was discussed. Ilana wondered what she might have to do to get promoted. The friend had a suggestion involving fire... but that's probably not a good plan.

Nick is always playing video games! He also enjoys talking to people online. He enjoys cooking, but he is very noisy about it. It sounds like he's attacking his food as he prepares it. And even when he wants to eat a toaster pastry, he finds them boring, yawning as he eats. Ilana called to discuss her possible promotion, and to run some ideas by Nick. But Nick says he will not cook for the whole city, no matter how much he is paid. And it's probably a good thing, too, because Nick has the dubious honour of being the first Sim to set something on fire while cooking! Fortunately the fire department came quickly and no possessions or lives were lost. Once the fire department left, Nick immediately went to take a shower, and then to have a drink, leaving the smouldering spaghetti on the stove.

Staci, Blaine, and Seth are all now employed! Staci is a mailroom clerk, Blaine is a dishwasher, and Seth is an EMT. It took Blaine and Seth a while to look for a job, but Staci was on it right away, with Blaine and Seth following her around while she read the paper, studied, and spied on people with the telescope. Nick came over for a visit and talked with Blaine. Blaine wanted to talk about himself, but Nick was not interested. The subject was changed to ghosts, and that was much better. Later, Ilana came to visit, and told Staci a joke about math, which Staci enjoyed. Ilana discussed her promotion difficulties with Seth, who suggested taking her competition and setting them adrift on a boat. Well, a cruise ship, really. Wouldn't want them to be uncomfortable. Later, everyone went to sleep on couches without saying goodbye to Ilana. Blaine and Seth dreamed about Nick.

Amanda and Kirk continue to have an irregular schedule, and to eschew the bed in favour of couches and, in Amanda's case, a bench on the deck. Apparently the hot tub was just too exhausting for her to go down a flight of steps to a bed. At one point, Kirk even left the bedroom to nap on a couch downstairs. I noticed that they didn't have a smoke detector, and after Nick's misadventures and with the amount of cooking they do, I decided to fix that. Amanda was amused by it. Kirk was offended. But they don't let that come between them, and in fact are always very affectionate with each other. It's so cute. Amanda and Kirk are still unemployed, but considering Kirk's obsession with cleaning the house and Manda's apparent desire to wear her swimsuit all the time, maybe it's better to ease them out of those things - and into a regular sleeping schedule - before employment is pursued. It's possible they need a better bed, too, to keep them from sleeping on the couches for one thing. But once they're on the bed they don't seem to want to leave. Kirk got up from the bed, thought about making food, and went back to bed again six times before he actually made it. Then, after he had eaten, he wrote in his diary about a garden gnome he'd seen on TV.

Later, there will be a Mary sim! And pictures!
