Title : Fallen
Characters : Myungsoo x Sungjong
Chapters : 3 (End)
Since that day Sungjong kept on avoiding Myungsoo. Every time Myungsoo tried to hug him, he will break the hug quickly saying he got some work to do. When a message from Myungsoo came in, Sungjong hesitated to reply. And when Myungsoo called, Sungjong lied saying he was in the library even though Myungsoo knew he was at the café.
He didn’t spend the night at Myungsoo’s apartment any more. He stayed with Sunggyu with a reason that Sunggyu will be lonely alone at home although everyone know that Woohyun always come there. Myungsoo didn’t say a word. He didn’t get mad at Sungjong or yell at him. He kept quiet; hurting every single second Sungjong lied to him.
It was enough for Sunggyu to see all of this. Myungsoo was suffering because of Sungjong’s actions. And he wondered how stupid Sungjong became when he was hurting too by doing all of that to Myungsoo. Woohyun and Hoya tried to talk to Sungjong but he kept on avoiding while Sungyeol and Dongwoo coaxed Myungsoo to discuss with Sungjong. But Myungsoo didn’t want to take a move. He only waited for the worst to come.
Not having much patience anymore, Sunggyu managed to drag Sungjong into Myungsoo’s apartment and left him alone with Myungsoo to talk about this. Myungsoo was startled at first to see him being dragged by Sunggyu, but then both of them sat on the couch at the living room.
They were in a momentary silence. As they didn’t know what to say, silence became to reign between them. Not wanting to be in this blurry problem, Sungjong broke the silence by asking,
‘Why didn’t you tell me you had a girlfriend?’
Myungsoo didn’t even look at Sungjong’s face. He only replied with a question.
‘Why did you lie to me that night?’ He asked knowing he was actually out with someone else.
Sungjong bit his lips before saying,
‘Answer me first.’
Myungsoo averted his sight to Sungjong with his cold eyes and said,
‘Is that important? Whether I had a girlfriend or not in the past, it had nothing to do with you.’
Sungjong was hurt with Myungsoo’s words. He never thought Myungsoo could be that cold to him.
‘Where did you go the other night?’ Myungsoo wanted the truth from Sungjong’s mouth.
Sungjong couldn’t take it any longer. His heart was mixed with pain and sadness. He couldn’t control his emotion or his tears.
‘I was out with Minhwan hyung.’ He answered, acknowledged that Myungsoo knew who was Minhwan. ‘I cheated on you.’ A lie even he didn’t know he could say.
Myungsoo was startled and dumbfounded. He shifted his eyes and stood only to walk into his room. But his pace stopped when Sungjong said,
‘Aren’t you going to kill me now like you kill your girlfriend?’
Myungsoo didn’t answer more than two words, before walking into his room.
‘Get lost.’
Sungjong bit his lips, preventing making any sound as tears were dripping onto the floor. Why did he say that to Myungsoo? It hurt so much, in his heart.

Things weren’t going smoothly after that night. Sunggyu and the others didn’t know what to do when Sungjong said they broke up. Sunggyu blamed himself for forcing the two discuss but Sungjong stated that soon or later they will break up.
At first Sungjong thought their relationship was perfect with love. But he didn’t notice that it was lacking of something. Trust - that was they were lacking. A relationship without trust is the same like an empty cookie jar.
Sungjong was devastated with all of this. Everyone could see he was breaking day by day. The tears he shed almost every night had dry up until he couldn’t cry anymore. He still met Myungsoo in the college but he kept on avoiding him. He didn’t take the way that he and Myungsoo always walk or go to the place which he used to spend time with Myungsoo. At café, he will order juice because coffee will remind him of Myungsoo every second in his life. He refused to take any pictures because he remembered how much Myungsoo loved to take his picture every time he wasn’t looking.
Funny because no matter hard Sungjong tried to get rid of Myungsoo out his life, he kept on missing Myungsoo till his heart hurts. Sometimes he founded himself waiting for Myungsoo’s messages or his calls. Once, he didn’t realize his feet brought him in front of Myungsoo’s apartment. But he knew Myungsoo already changed the security code (he already tried to break in). He regretted lying to Myungsoo and said he cheated on him but actually Myungsoo knew he wasn’t cheating on him.
But every time he forgot to take his breakfast, he will find a cup of coffee in the library at the place he used to sit, with a note on the cup.
‘Dance Department Student, Lee Sungjong’s coffee has saliva in it.’
Sungjong will smile because he knew very well it was from Myungsoo. He took it, drinking it as he walked towards his class. Then, he bumped into Sungyeol and the others.
‘Coffee~’ Sungyeol squeaked the moment he saw a cup of coffee at Sungjong’s hand.
Knowing Sungyeol, who is a crazy one when it comes to coffee, he probably wanted the coffee.
‘Andwae.’ Sungjong said, hiding the coffee behind his back.
‘Wae?’ Sungyeol whined. ‘Just one, just one sip.’ He begged Sungjong.
Sungjong didn’t know what to say until an idea crossed his mind,
‘This…this has spit in it. Don’t drink it.’ He said, sipping the coffee.
‘Stingy!’ Sungyeol kept on whining.

Sungjong opened his eyes just to realize he was in the hospital. Sunggyu explained to him that he fainted because he always skipped his meals. Sungjong looked down because it wasn’t like he skipped meal on purpose. It was just he had no appetite to eat.
Sungjong stayed in the hospital for a day, but not even once Myungsoo came to see him. Hoya already told Myungsoo but still Sungjong was waiting for him. He felt stupid because hoping Myungsoo will visit him although they already break up. Almost every time, the others stayed with him, he always held back his tears remembering about Myungsoo.
But this time Sunggyu couldn’t stand it any more.
‘Myungsoo told me not to, but it looks like I have to tell you. If I leave both of you alone, it won’t be weird if any of you die due to lovesickness.’
Sungjong gave attention to Sunggyu’s words,
‘Myungsoo’s girlfriend cheated on him. The day his girlfriend found out that he already knew about this, she was scared that he’ll break up with her, so she ran away from him into the road and got hit by a car.’
Sungjong was startled to hear the entire story.
‘So…she died because of that.’ Sungjong’s eyes were widened.
All this time the rumors saying Myungsoo pushed her into the road was really just rumors. But for the first time he heard the rumor, he didn’t believe in it knowing how gentle Myungsoo is to the one who he loved. Still everyone was saying the same thing to him again and again, making him believing that Myungsoo really killed her.
Sunggyu just nodded before continuing,
‘He never loved the girl. He never did love someone in his life. He only dated her because the girl kept on begging for him.’
‘Why didn’t he tell me?’ Sungjong was shedding tears.
‘He didn’t want you to get hurt. He really loves you.’
Sungjong made a big mistake, and he wanted to make it all clear now. He got out from bed but Sunggyu held on him. Sungjong kept on shouting to let him go. He wanted to meet Myungsoo. He wanted to apologize. He wanted to go back to his side no matter what. But his heart stopped when Sunggyu raised his voice,
‘He’s gone!’
Sungjong stayed still, not moving a finger.
‘He went to America this morning.’

Like that, Myungsoo left without saying goodbye. Sungjong was having a hard time. It had been two weeks since Myungsoo left, and Sungjong didn’t want to give up on him. He will wait for Myungsoo. That was a promise he made to himself without anyone knowing.
He made his life busy by then. He volunteered on helping the college musical and in the end the professor wanted him to perform the arrangement song for the musical. He was glad that Myungsoo’s efforts on teaching him won’t be futile. He always goes to Myungsoo’a apartment as he found out that Myungsoo changed the security code back to the old one.
Sungjong was stupid to only notice the security code was his own birthday date, 030993. If only he didn’t blind to see how much Myungsoo love him, this won’t have happen. The first time he entered Myungsoo’s apartment after Myngsoo left, he was perplexed to see photos of him on the wall of Myungsoo’s room. No wonder Myungsoo always forced him to sleep in the guest room. He was hiding the photos.
Every time he missed Myungsoo so damn much, he will end up hugging the clothes Myungsoo’s left in his closet. He will be okay after smelling Myungsoo’s scent. No one had the kind of scent except for Myungsoo. He was getting stronger day by day because he knew Myungsoo still love him somewhere in the world. Someone taught Sungjong once that love doesn’t mean having to be together, love is when two people love each other no matter how far they are. Sungjong smiled when he just recalled that it wasn’t someone. It was Myungsoo who taught him.
A year passed just like the wind. Sungjong was busy with his college life. Sunggyu and Woohyun were still dating although Sunggyu always threaten to dump Woohyun like always. Dongwoo and Hoya…well the two are complicated. First they said they’re dating but the next week they said they’re just friends, but it gets better in time. For Sungyeol, the kid was dating with coffee every single day.
Sungjong was happy because his hyung always there with him. He didn’t feel lonely but still he had to admit his heart was missing a piece. Being far apart from Myungsoo made Sungjong’s love for him even stronger. Every night he will pray for God to give back his angel. He searched for Myungsoo. Even the others tried to contact him but he was no where to be found. He thought he will never meet Myungsoo ever again but he was wrong.
After being scolded by Sunggyu on the phone for not taking breakfast, Sungjong pouted as he made his way to the library. There, he saw it. He saw a cup of coffee on the table that he used to sit. He picked it up just to see the note on it,
‘Yah Lee Sungjong. Didn’t I tell you to eat breakfast?’
It was him. He knew the writing belongs to. Sungjong looked to his left and right, searching for that someone. He darted out the library, as tears starting to fall. He grabbed his phone, calling Sunggyu.
‘Hyung…he’s here.’
‘Who?’
‘Myungsoo.’
Sungjong tried to find Myungsoo but failed. He didn’t want to miss this chance. He needed to meet him. It was long enough to make him wait. He couldn’t hold back any more. But in the end he couldn’t. Sungyeol called him saying he should be at the hall to see the musical.
He came there, eyes all red. He sat beside Sunggyu although Woohyun insisted on sitting there.
‘I fail to find him.’ Sungjong almost cried again.
Sunggyu just smiled and ruffled his hair,
‘Nope. You already found him.’
The moment he said that, the stage was lighted on and a voice came straight to his ears. He knew the voice very well. It belongs to Myungsoo. He averted his eyes towards the stage and there he was with his guitar.
♫Even if it’s not every moment,
Even if it’s only for occasion,
Will you suddenly think of me?
Although I’m not perfect,
But I made you laugh too,
If you meet others that look like me,
Will you be reminded of me?
If you listen to the songs we listened to,
Will you be reminded of me?
When you encounter people with the same name as me,
Will you be reminded of me?
Even if it’s not every moment,
Please think of me once.
Anytime, anywhere,
I have thought of you,
Would you remember me if you meet someone
with the same name as me?
I will remember you.
All the while I breathe,
I will think of you♫
Sungjong’s heart felt relieved. The moment Myungsoo finished performing, Sungjong was no where to be found. Even Sunggyu and the others didn’t notice where he went. Sungjong actually went to get something before meeting Myungsoo back stage.
‘You bad guy!’ Sungjong yelled at him.
Myungsoo just smiled seeing Sungjong didn’t change at all.
‘You should’ve at least said goodbye before leaving.’ Sungjong pouted because now he knew that Myungsoo went to America as the transfer student and those evil hyung of his hid it from him.
‘Mianhe. I tried to call you but Sunggyu hyung scolded me to.’
‘Wae?!’ Sungjong never thought his hyung was that evil.
‘He told me you need to suffer to pay back all you did.’ Myungsoo explained.
‘I suffer enough all this time.’ Sungjong pouted.
Myungsoo came closer to caress Sungjong’s cheek. He just realized that Sungjong had become so thinner since the last time they met.
‘Mianhe Sungjong. Please forgive.’ Myungsoo didn’t want to leave Sungjong in the first place but he needed to because he had an agreement with his professor.
A year ago, he begged the professor to use Sungjong’s arrangement song for the musical. The professor agreed with a condition that Myungsoo had to be one of the transfer students. And no one knew that, even Sungjong until now. It was a secret only Myungsoo will know because he loved Lee Sungjong.
‘Here.’ Sungjong gave him a cup of coffee that he just bought after he left the hall. ‘Drink this and I’ll forgive you.’
Myungsoo took it, with a weird feeling to see Sungjong’s smiling face. He just sipped the coffee because he wanted Sungjong to forgive him. But the moment he took one sip, he spit the coffee out. Seeing that, Sungjong laughed and quickly ran away when Myungsoo glared at him.
‘Yah! You really spat in it.’ Myungsoo shouted at Sungjong, who was running away.
Myungsoo shook his head and noticed a note on the cup,
‘That’s revenge for you, Kim Myungsoo!’
Myungsoo just smiled reading the note. He never thought Sungjong would really spit in the coffee. Then, he picked up his phone when he felt the phone vibrated.
‘I…I really love you. So, don’t go.’ It was Sungjong.
His voice was shrill as he was begging for Myungsoo to not leave him again.
‘I won’t go. Don’t you remember the fact I’ve fallen for you?’
The younger just smiled through the phone and Myungsoo knew that.
‘Nado saranghae, Lee Sungjong.’
