Title : L.O.V.E.R (Sequel to L.O.V.E)
Characters : Myungsoo x Sungjong
Chapters : 3

That day was the last day he called Myungsoo with ‘L’. Since then, he called him with ‘hyung’. L was really uncomfortable with him calling him that. But he couldn’t protest it. It was no reason why he must to. Although Myungsoo was a bit shocked to hear Sungjong saying that, the both of them wasn’t arguing. They talked like always.

Even Myungsoo was all right when the others suddenly invited Sungjong to their practice room in college every week. That day, Sungjong came to their room as Sungyeol said he wanted to talk to him about something. But he was not there, so did the others. There was only Myungsoo.

So he just sat on a chair not far from the chair L, who was holding a guitar, was sitting. He just peered at him, waiting for L to play something.

‘Want to play?’ l abruptly said, handing his guitar to Sungjong.

‘But I don’t know how.’ Sungjong whined after being force to take the guitar from L.

L stood up just to stay beside Sungjong, showing him how to play.

‘Put your left hand here and right here.’ L kept on trying to teach Sungjong.

But after a while, he slumped down to his chair again no sighed.

‘Are you really that stupid? I explained it to you three times already.’

Sungjong pouted and replied,

‘I’m not stupid…just a bit dumb.’

L smiled to see him pouting and ruffled the latter’s hair. To tell the truth, he was perplexed when L did that to him.

‘Oh, what we got here? Two people laughing without us.’ Woohyun suddenly uttered as the others walked in the room.

‘It’s nothing. I just showed Sungjong how to play the guitar.’ L answered.

‘Where were you guys?’ Sungjong couldn’t help himself but to ask as he was waiting there with Myungsoo almost an hour.

‘We’re late because of this~’ Dongwoo said before Hoya came in holding a snowman cake in his hands.

‘Happy Birthday, Sungjongie~’ Everyone shouted except for L.

Well that’s because no one told him before. He just stayed on his chair, watching the others wishing the latter happy birthday. They were wiping cream on each others faces until Sungjong said,

‘Wait! Myungsoo hyung hasn’t have cream on his face yet.’ Sungjong grinned towards L.

‘No, no. I’m fine.’ L put his guitar down and was half in position of getting up.

Not a minute later, Sungjong was chasing Myungsoo and so did the others. L was their target.

‘Yah! Stop it.’ He had no choice but to give in and ended up with a lot of cream on his face.

They all washed their faces after that and decided to go home as it was already late. They walked ahead, leaving Sungjong and Myungsoo behind a bit. As the two was about to walk down the stairs, Myungsoo’s words stopped Sungjong’s pace,

‘Lee Sungjong.’

‘Yes.’ He turned towards L, blinking his eyes as always.

‘Happy birthday.’ He said it with a smile on his visage.

Sungjong was so damn happy to hear that from L with that smile on his face. He couldn’t stop smiling until he didn’t notice the stairs beside him. He ended up falling from the stairs, and his body crushed the floor downstairs. Myungsoo was shocked.

‘Sungjong!’ He could only shout as he tried to help the latter.

The others who notice it ran towards Sungjong who was groaning in pain.

‘You okay?’ Sungyeol asked hoping Sungjong could lie as always but failed.

‘I’m not. It’s…hurt.’ Sungjong was supporting his body with his left hand while his right hand was holding close to his ribs.

‘Can you walk?’ It was Myungsoo’s turn to ask.

Receiving a ‘no’ from Sungjong, Myungsoo decided to carry the latter on his arms and carried him to the hospital. The others followed too while Hoya was on phone, calling Sungjong’s appa.

After being examined, Sungjong had to be hospitalized for a few days. L was worried about him; he couldn’t stay still until Sungjong was transferred to the ward. Not long after that, Sungjong’s dad and his step-mother came.

‘How can you be so clumsy?’ His appa could only sigh.

L was the one, who bow to him and said,

‘It was my fault.’

Sungjong interposed,

‘Aniya. It was my fault. I’m the one who didn’t see the stairs.’ He smiled like a kid, making his appa couldn’t even scold him.

‘Is your injuries serious?’ His appa asked.

‘Nope. Just a little scratches.’ He said with confidence.

‘Really?’ His appa raised his brow, not believing his son.

‘Myungie?’ His mother said to L, hoping he will tell them the truth.

‘He hurt both of his legs and broke a rib.’ L answered as he couldn’t possibly lie to them.

‘Not serious you said?!’ His appa shouted at him, rendering Sungjong to bit his lips.

That night Hoya and Myungsoo had a fight on who will accompany Sungjong at the hospital as only one accompany was allowed. In the end, Hoya had to give up, knowing Myungsoo will surely take good care of Sungjong.

At first, Sungjong wanted Hoya to accompany him as he didn’t want to burden Myungsoo. Yet, he didn’t mind burdening Hoya. Bur looking Myungsoo so insisted in taking care of him, he couldn’t resist to reject that boy.

‘You want some water?’ L asked as they were alone in the ward.

Sungjong just shook his head the fifth time after L asked him the same questions again and again.

‘Then, is there anything I can do?’ L’s eyes were covered with guilt.

He blamed himself for the incident. If only he could catch Sungjong just now, he won’t be laying on the bed helplessly. He thought that. Sungjong had to admit he fell because he was so happy hearing the birthday wish from Myungsoo but still he couldn’t blame Myungsoo. It wasn’t like Myungsoo push him or something like that. Instead, he said something that Sungjong was happy to hear it.

Not wanting Myungsoo to feel guilty, Sungjong said,

‘I want some fresh air.’

With that answer, Myungsoo helped Sungjong to sit on the wheelchair and brought him outside to the hospital’s park.

‘Whoa, it’s so breezy.’ Sungjong said as he pushed his hands crushing the air.

With a smile on his face, Myungsoo put his coat on Sungjong’s shoulder. In a sec, Sungjong was a bit perplexed, not because of L’s action but because he remembered Myungsoo did that to him before when the two of them were out to buy ice-cream.

‘It’s cold out here.’

Those words were the same words Myungsoo had told him once. Sungjong looked down for a while but then he raised his face and smiled.

‘Thanks hyung.’

Hearing the latter called him ‘hyung’ again annoyed him so much. L suddenly perched in front of Sungjong, looking straight into the younger’s eyes.

‘About you liking me…’ Myungsoo stopped his words just to smile. ‘Don’t give up.’

‘Wha..what do you mean?’ Sungjong understood what L was trying to say actually but he needed to confirm it.

‘Don’t stop liking me.’

His words puzzled Sungjong. He was so damn shocked but confused in the same. He bit his bottom lips before saying,

‘Don’t joke around. It’s not funny.’

‘I’m not joking around.’ L’s voice was stern, showing he wasn’t messing around.

Sungjong could hear his heart broke again like a glass being shattered into pieces.

‘Who do think you are?’ Sungjong’s respond was not the respond L was hoping for.

‘First you say to stop liking you and now you’re asking me not to give up on you.’ Sungjong was mad at him, really mad. ‘I’m not a toy who you can throw and take anytime you want.’

L who was getting pissed off hearing those words averted his eyes from Sungjong before he stood up. He wanted to make everything clear. Sungjong didn’t understand the real thing. He really wanted Sungjong to see his true feeling towards him but failed when Sungjong said,

‘I want to go back, now.’ His voice was a little hoarse for some reason. Maybe because he was holding back his tears.

L had no choice but to obey him, anyway it was getting cold outside so it was best for Sungjong to go back.

It had been a week since Sungjong hospitalized but still the atmosphere between L and Sungjong became so tense. They didn’t talk, even for a word. L tried to crack a conversation with Sungjong but they ended up fighting over stupid thing. So, he decided to stay quiet.

‘Are they fighting?’ Dongwoo elbowed Hoya as all of them noticed about the two.

‘Looks like it.’ Hoya answered as his eyes watched L and Sungjong avoiding their eyes in the ward.

Both of them sighed.

Not long after Hoya and Dongwoo visited Sungjong at the hospital, Sungyeol and the Woogyu couple came darting into the ward as if they were chased or something.

‘Wow, what’s with the atmosphere?’ That was the first thing Woohyun said when they stepped into the ward.

‘Hear that a lot today and have no intention of repeating the answer for the fifth time, hyung.’  The latter’s answer rendered the three to shift their sight to L who was sitting on the chair, reading a magazine.

‘Don’t look at me. He started it.’ L’s words made Sungjong shouted at him,

‘What do you mean I started it?!’

‘See.’ L flipped his magazine, still eyes skimming it.

Sungjong who was pissed off, bit his lips before taking a pillow and bury his head with it. He then screamed as a sign he was mad.

The three of sighed.

*****

A few days after Sungjong was discharged, Sunggyu and the others planned to go on a trip for 3 days and 2 nights. And of course they were tagging Sungjong along as the whole thing was planned to make Sungjong felt all better.

His appa protested at first then when Hoya came begging as usual and told him that L was coming too, his appa had no choice but to allow him. Sungjong was thrilled to go on the trip except the part where there will be Myungsoo. They hadn’t settled the thing between them. It was bothersome for Sungjong to think about it.

‘I’ll be going now~’ Sungjong bowed to his parents and made his way out of the house.

‘Be careful.’ His appa still managed to advice that clumsy son of him.

‘I will.’ He smiled as he waited outside for L. He wondered why he bothered waiting anyway.

‘Take care of him, Myungsoo.’ Sungjong’s appa said to him.

‘Araso.’ He bowed before trying to step out the house.

But before he could, his oemma stopped him and said,

‘Remember what we talked that night?’ His oemme asked him as Sungjong’s appa already went inside.

L recalled back what his oemma had said to him the night that she suddenly came into his room after he sent Sungjong crying. He just smiled and nodded.

With that both of them went to Dongwoo’s café which was the gathering place. A trip with only 7 guys mustn’t be so hard.

An hour of journey, they arrived at a villa that Sunggyu claimed to be his uncle’s. The others thought it won’t be nice to stay there, but Woohyun insisted as if what Sunggyu’s belonging are his too.

Not long after that, Sungjong could feel something was fishy when they were deciding their rooms. There were 3 rooms in total. And Woogyu couple already chose a room for themselves. So it only left the 5 of them with 2 rooms.

They played a game to decide it and it end up Hoya and Dongwoo were in the same room and the others in the another room. Sungjong was so damn glad that he didn’t have to share the room only with L. But then, everything changed when Sungyeol making excuses that he can’t sleep the same room with L and wanting to share the room with Yadong couple.

Dongwoo was trying his hard to protest of course because Sungyeol will ruin the chance of him being alone with Hoya. At last, Dongwoo gave up after receiving a signal from Hoya to just let the two to be together.

It was hard for Sungjong, having to share a room with L. But it was hell for Sungjong when all room had a queen size bed.

‘Why can they have single beds here?’ Sungjong mumbled as he threw himself on the bed, not realizing L followed him into the room.

‘Like you never sleep on the same bed with me before.’ L’s unwanted reply made Sungjong blushed so hard.

He didn’t reply but hid his blushing face in the pillows. L, who knew Sungjong must be blushing, snickered a bit.

‘Sungjong ah.’ L started to crack a conversation with his voice sounded serious.

But it was interrupted.

‘Yah, let’s go out to play.’ It was Sungyeol.

And thanks for his interruption, L ended up glaring at Sungyeol. Sungyeol who was already half way in the room, noticed it and said,

‘Maybe later then.’ He went out of the room.

Sungjong, who heard that, got up and replied,

‘Aniya. Now it’s a good time to play.’ Sungjong was actually trying to avoid talking to Myungsoo.

When the younger walked out the room, Myungsoo just sighed.

‘Why it had to be this hard?’ He mumbled.

‘Why can’t I go?!’ Myungsoo came out of the room as he heard Sungjong was whining about something.

‘Because you’re not fully recover yet.’ Hoya explained that Sungjong couldn’t join them to play outside.

‘Then what’s the point coming here??’ Sungjong couldn’t stop whining.

Sunggyu tapped the latter’s head and said,

‘Be a good boy and stayed at home.’

Sungjong just pouted as he saw the others walked out the door, leaving him. Not less than a second, Sungjong received a text message from Sungyeol. He frowned at first but then just read it.

‘Sungjongie, hwating!’

He ended up pondering for a while but then he understood when someone said to him,

‘Do you want something to eat?’

It was L. He forgot the fact that Myungsoo didn’t follow the others. He really forgot that Sungyeol wasn’t giving up so he and Myungsoo could be together. They tricked him so he will be alone in the house with L.

Sungjong just shook his head and walked away just before Myungsoo could say something to him. Myungsoo was tired. It had been a whole day he was trying to talk to Sungjong but he kept on avoiding and even stayed in the bathroom for an hour. Sometimes, Sungjong treated L as if L was a criminal or something.

When the others got back home with food, they knew their plan didn’t work because in the dining table Sungjong was sitting very far from L. And they still didn’t say a word to each other.

The five of them sighed.

As they were having dinner, Sunggyu tried to liven up the atmosphere as they were not talking much.

‘Sungjong ah, you’re good at dancing right?’

‘Yes but not as good as Hoya hyung.’ He answered, putting some rice in his mouth.

‘That’s great. It means all of us can dance.’ Woohyun uttered as he handed Sunggyu a glass of water.

‘Really?’ Sungjong just blinked his eyes a few times hearing that statement.

‘Yeah. All of us can dance even L although he always makes mistakes with the steps.’ Sungyeol laughed and so did Sungjong.

‘Yah, at least I don’t fall asleep while eating.’ L was mocking Sungyeol.

Just before Sungyeol could reply, Dongwoo interposed,

‘Maybe we should create a boy dance group. We’ll call it ‘INFINITE’’

Dongwoo’s suggestion received a hit from Hoya as he replied,

‘And how can we manage to do that?’

‘We’ll manage it someway.’ Sungyeol back-upped Dongwoo.

‘Enough all ready guys, let’s continue eating.’ Sunggyu said as he couldn’t stop laughing hearing Dongwoo’s suggestion.

‘INFINITE…that’s a cool name.’ Sungjong mumbled as a smile was hanging on his visage.

That night the two of them had to sleep on the same bed. Sungjong wanted to sleep on the floor actually but Sunggyu already warned all of them that if anyone slept on the floor he’ll be cursed or something like that. Sungjong were back facing L and so did Myungsoo. They didn’t want to sleep facing each other.

Not long after the lights were turned of, L couldn’t sleep. Although he shut his eyes he didn’t manage to sleep. So he got out of the bed. He glimpsed at Sungjong and funny to see he wasn’t there. He went outside the room and found Sungjong sitting on the couch at the living room, gazing to the window which was stained with raindrops.

‘You can’t sleep?’ L asked as he sat beside Sungjong.

This time Sungjong didn’t run away. He just smiled bitterly and nodded. Then they soon trapped in a momentary silence. L didn’t say a word, more like he didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t put his words together.

‘It’s a shame that it rain.’ Sungjong started to talk and L only shifted his eyes from the floor to his face. ‘I really want to go outside to see the stars. I heard there are a lot of shooting stars here. It will be great to make a wish.’

‘What is your wish?’ Myungsoo couldn’t stop himself from asking that as he was curious.

‘It’s a secret.’ Sungjong smiled at Myungsoo, really planning not to tell Myungsoo about his wish.

L looked up to the window and uttered,

‘Then, I also want to make a wish.’

His words made Sungjong averted his sight to Myungsoo and asked the same question like Myungsoo just now,

‘What do you want to wish?’

L put on a cheeky smile before answering,

‘It’s a secret.’

‘You copy me.’ Sungjong and L ended up laughing a bit.

When they stopped laughing, there was an awkward atmosphere between the two of them again. Myungsoo pulled out his hand towards Sungjong. Sungjong blinked his eyes several times as he was perplexed. Myungsoo kept on making sign with his eyes so that Sungjong will place his hand on his. And Sungjong did. Myungsoo grabbed his hand and said,

‘Do you want to hear my wish?’

Sungjong just nodded, thinking it wasn’t going to be a big deal.

‘I wish that you would like me again.’

The latter’s eyes widened to hear that wish. L was staring straight into Sungjong’s eyes. And with those eyes Sungjong knew L was serious.

‘But…’ L knew what Sungjong was trying to say.

He wanted to say they couldn’t be together because he was his step-brother.

‘I don’t care who you really are. Because all I know is I can’t stop thinking about you.’

‘I love you, Lee Sungjong.’ L’s confession was clear to Sungjong.
