The book in question is A New Owner's Guide to Guinea Pigs by Karen Bawoll. Not that I actually have one, but poissonvert is taking care of a friend's guinea pig and got the book as well.
They are groomed the same as Texels, with emphasis on curl. Boucles are occasionally bred back to Peruvians to help improve the frontal, which is sometimes difficult to keep dense and full.
