So it's one week to go before the start of Summer of Giles and I've had to pull my own dates from the calendar. My mother took a fall last week and is in the hospital. Nothing broken but she seems to have been on the floor for many hours before help was sought. She's very confused in her mind these days so it's a worrying time. I'm not going to

Three important words of advice for elderly parents - Power Of Attorney.

POA's are important

My mom was ill for many years. According to our banks and credit cards, account POAs are only noted on the computer for a limited number of years. So every 3 years or so they'd ask me to re-fax (this is ancient history) POAs. Medical was really the one we worried about the most.
