Some good news. :D

Yeah so... the head of A&R at Universal called Ron (my lawyer) back about my press kits. He was impressed.

But here's the deal.

He was presented with another chick artist this week, but he told Ronald he thought I was much better than she was (hurray... especially coming from that dude, geez). However, she has the number one downloaded song on AOL-- so that's her strong point. And she will probably get signed because of it, regardless of how she sings or that she doesn't write most of her songs. Yeah, that sucks! That's always the way it's been, with all of the record execs. You need to sell a lot of CDs, you have to have a number #1 already on radio, or something... total disregard for talent. It's frustrating working so hard on singing and writing, you know, the actual talent stuff, just to hear THAT all the time...

But at least I got a good review, I guess. *dancedance*

It's kinda sad though that in terms of working hard and talent, I'm above the other girl... but because she had enough money to release a song to AOL, she's coming first. That's kind of annoying. But I only have a few more steps to go. I'm getting to the realization thaaat even if it takes years to get there I'll still be going at it.

:D :D :D

In other news, my band is doing okay. I can't wait until we start doing shows at the end of the month. And also, we'll be recording new songs very soon with the band in order to get the album out. *dancedancedance more* Things are very busy, but good.

So I'm sorry if I haven't been able to talk to any of you guys for a while... but.... yeah... utter craziness here.

I work during the day now (from 8AM to 4PM Monday through Friday and sometimes Saturdays), which is insane for me to do... but now I can pay for the rehearsal space myself and pay for my recording equipment-- without having to use investors that will want paid back, times two. So basically I work all day, go to the gym for an hour, run as many errands as I possibly can after work, and then go to rehearsal until 11PM. And sometimes more than that. It's CRAZY. But I find that I am much happier now that I have so much to do that I can't stop to attempt worrying about it. I don't have time to worry, heh.

As for my day job... hahahaha... Basically I work for an answering service. So I take calls from sick people and people with medical emergencies that are trying to reach their doctor but get me instead. Thankfully I'm very good on the computer and I don't get stressed easily. 0.o Crazy people. But hey, it's $11 bucks an hour and a lot of the people that work there are in the entertainment industry. Not to mention my supervisor is a ROZY CLONE. I'm not kidding. She's not really a clone.... more like how Rozy will be in 7 years. Same personality, same character traits... it's very creepy. And I have to occasionally remind myself that, no, I'm not talking to Rozy. 0.o

Anyways.

I'm off to play Tekken 5 and fuckin' relax. I need it.

*dancedancedances again*
