And so it begins.

It was as I expected it to be.

You can tell that they are starting a new story line for the season and, like last season, there is a strong emphasis in having the season feel like one really long show with few "stand alone" episodes. They haven't even run down all the characters from the last season in the premiere, so I expect next episode to go through Nikki/Micah/DL and Sylar. Probably discuss more of Peter's story, since we only got a glimpse of him in tihs episode (oh, but what a glimpse!) Not sure if Candice or the Haitian will appear this season... I haven't exactly kept myself from spoiler information (for instance, I knew that a "major character" would die in the episode), but the information has been sparse.

A number of characters weren't at all where I expected: Nathan, for instance. Wow, I did not expect him to be all drunken disorderly. Very, very sad. I didn't imagine that he would be so, but I suspect they will introduce the idea that he's really dependent on his brother emotionally even if he is the outward strong one. It's sad that his wife and children left him, but I think it's because he really hides his nature from everyone in the attempt to be strong. I'm sure that Heidi still doesn't know anything about her husband's condition.

Peter was definitely not where I expected him to be. In a container ship outside of Ireland. WTF? I'm so looking forward to how all of that is explained. Also... where did he get the necklace? Perhaps from the Haitian? No idea, but I'm sure that the symbol will be far more prominent and meaningful this season than last one, where it was more subliminal.

I know that most of the folks on my friends list will be all happy and pleased with Matt/Mohinder/Molly situation (it's 3M!), but what I'm really intrigued about is the Mohinder/Noah connection. Wow. That's going to be so fascinating. I expected Lindermann to be the head of the Company, but it looks like that's not the case... or that there is a new head honcho in town. To me, those "there are bigger games than yours"-bits are the most fascinating (reminds me so much of the Watchmen). So, there are supposed to be twelve originals...

Deceased
Lindermann
Papa Petrelli
Daddy Deveaux - I'm sure his power will be revealed sometime during the season.
Elder Nakamura - We never got to find out what his power is. *pout*

Alive (for now)
Mama Petrelli - I think she's got some sort of dream-related power. Peter seemed to get more dreams when he's around her, especially towards the end of S1 when he ran out of the parking garage and passed out.

Unknowns
The hooded individual - maybe? Perhaps he works for one of them.

I can't wait for more to be revealed!
Also, the hooded persaon... I wonder what his/her power is, especially if that person can survive a drop (or avoid it by flying away). SO INTRIGUING!

The brother and sister combination are definitely intriguing. The new love-interest for Claire is less-so. I do like how Claire is really smart and talented, but puts it away. Sort of like her father, but with a bit of neediness like Peter. Yeah. I like the Petrellis, minius Mama Petrelli 'cause she's evil. But intriguing! I want to know what her power is. Seriously.

It looks like Molly's guy is going to be the Big Bad this season. Makes me wonder if they're going to do the old "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and they'll join forces with Sylar (last season's Big Bad) to attempt to defeat him. (Wow, this is the most meta/speculative I've ever been about a series.)

Anyway, yeah, can't wait for next week, although I bet I will be watching it over the computer or something as I will be on vacation in Arizona. WOOT! Speaking of Arizona... if anyone has ANY recommendations as to where to eat or what to see in Arizona or New Mexico (we're flying into Tucson, going up to the Grand Canyon and then driving East to fly out of Santa Fe), I'd love to hear suggestions. Especially food places and other local stuff, away from too many tourists.

Oh... and today was also the premiere of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

1. Sarah Jane is so beautiful. I want to be that gorgeous when I'm 59. Seriously.

2. Luke is a LOT more attractive than I remember him. Yes, I shouldn't be evaluating the attractiveness of a 14 year old, but dang he is very cute. I'd have a crush on him if i was 14! Does that reveal my hidden lust for Adric when I was in my pre-teens? I've always been into socially awkward, cute, dark-haired boys. I seriously need to make some icons.

3. Maria is a LOT more attractive than I remember her. I seriously need to make some icons.

4. The chemistry! Between Sarah Jane and Mr. Jackson? WOAH. I'm sort of liking it.

5. Maria's mom is a cow. I hope we see a lot less of her in the forthcoming episodes.

6. Ok, enough with the farting. Seriously. Enough. Oh wait, the audience for this show is the type that will find every fart funny, no matter what, right? RATS.

7. BABY SLITHEEN! WOO!

Oh, and I've got something special for the friends of mine in my next post. Hee hee.

PS -- Like the icon? I rewatched Shortbus recently and JCM is just so handsome. There's something about him that reminds me of John Simm. Maybe?
