Can't sleep. Clowns will eat me.
The lack of sleep does not bode well, as I have to leave early tomorrow morning for a company meeting. Argh.
Anyway, I've been up to some mischief.
First, I wrote some
Doctor Who Master/Lucy comment pr0n with
snowgrouse. That was fun! Since I drabble, the format suits me. You can clearly see our stylistic differences, which was also really cool. Porn that is good makes you hot. Porn that is great makes you want to make others hot.
Then, I polished off my
masterficathon bottom!Master/toppy!Lucy domination fic for the first Master Ficathon. It was for
katrina87. A bit late, but had to polish it a bit after some beta comments. It's tricky because of the competing voices. Both characters were very much "pay attention to MEEE!". I do think the ending (suggested from a friend) was cool.
Lastly, I decided that I should post something I've been thinking about and working on for some time.
It's a Master slash Master/Doctor slash Master/Lucy mix. The kicker is that all the music is from my a cappella collection. I spent a number of evenings going through what I had electronically and started sorting them into buckets. I've got a few in a "The Doctor" pile and some other bits in a "Sam Tyler" pile.
Here's what is in the Master pile right now. It's so far not sorted into songs just pertaining to the Master and the songs that speak to the relationships he has with others. Bear in mind, these are not just covers but a cappella covers. I've tried to add the original performer off the top of my head:
Baby One More Time (Britney Spears)
Blurry (Puddle of Mud)
Both Hands (Ani DiFranco)
Breathe Me (Sia)
Burning Down the House (Devo)
Clocks (Coldplay)
Completely (House Jacks) - This is a professional a cappella group's original.
Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne)
Creep (Radiohead)
Disarm (Smashing Pumpkins)
Fix You (Coldplay)
Hey You (Pink Floyd)
Hungry Like the Wolf (Duran Duran)
I Can't Take Your Kind (Jezebelle) - Another professional a cappella group's original.
I Touch Myself (The Divinyls)
I wanna Be Like You (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy)
Inside Out (Eve 6)
Karma Police (Radiohead)
Kashmir (Led Zepplin)
Let Go (Frou Frou)
Livin' On the Edge (Aerosmith)
Long Train Running (Doobie Brothers)
Love is a Battlefield (Pat Benatar)
Love You Madly (Cake)
Lovesong (The Cure)
Machinehead (Bush)
Mad World (Tears for Fears)
Memory (Sugarcult)
My Favorite Game (Cardigans)
Polaris (Jimmy Eat World)
Porcelain (Moby)
Possession (Sarah McLachlan)
Prayer for the Dying (Seal)
Red Rain (Peter Gabriel)
Rock and Roll / The Ocean (Led Zepplin)
Run (Snow Patrol)
The Scientist (Coldplay)
Snow on the Sahara (Anggun)
Sukiyaki
Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones)
Texarkana (R.E.M.)
Tonight, Tonight (Smashing Pumpkins)
The Way It Makes Me Feel (House Jacks) - I love the House Jacks. Their original.
Wicked Game (Chris Isaak)
Any of those a keeper for my first mix?
And now... for the memes!

I've been tagged to list seven habits/quirks/facts about myself. Adding the caveat that they need to be facts that people generally wouldn't know about me. Knowing that I knit, that I am a cinephile (and that Brazil is my favorite film, that I play the harp all do not count.
1. I'm growing my hair out, really long, for the first time in my life with no plans to get it permed. It's about halfway on my back now. I plan on growing it another four to five inches. My criteria? That my hair is long enough to cover my boobs.
2. Ever since I first stepped into one of my high school friends' all black and mirrored living room, I've wanted to color-code the rooms of my house, with a unique color per room. I sort of do it in my apartment: my bathroom is blue, my kitchen is green, my living room is yellow. I want to paint of the walls in my study blood red, but that would require clearing the room to get at a wall. I've had this plan ever since I moved in, 1999.
3. I find my body rather confusing. I don't understand how come, at night, my body temperature seems to go up. I feel hot. In the morning, I feel freezing cold (probably the result of being uncovered for most of the evening), but I've been told that I'm burning hot to the touch in the morning.
4. Ever since junior high school, I've had a minor obsession with serial killers, specifically how serial killers are portrayed in popular culture. Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs had me reading up on Ed Gein and Ted Bundy. The morbid part of me which I expressed readily in junior high school and high school is still there in me, I just don't let her out too often.
5. I own every CD published by the
Tufts University Beelzebubs since 1993. I worship them.
Television meme! TV Guide's 30 Best Shows.
Bold those shows where you've seen every episode.
Italics for those shows where you've seen episodes, and are kind of *meh* about what you saw.
Underlined Italics if you only saw a few episodes and liked what you saw.
Strikeout those shows where you've seen episodes, but didn't like it.
Leave the text as is for shows you haven't seen.
Bonus round: List 5 shows you think should've been on the list, but weren't.
30) Strangers with Candy
29) Absolutely Fabulous
28) Stargate SG-1 - I seriously need some friends to treat ths show like crack and offer me just the right dosage to get hooked.
27) H.R. Pufnstuf
26) Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman
25) Firefly
24) Twin Peaks
23) Dark Shadows (original) - Take me, Barnabas. I heard the rumors of Johnny Depp getting a movie project based on this off the ground. *crosses fingers*
22) Doctor Who - For New Who. Doctor Who for Old Who. I just haven't seen everything.
21) Freaks and Geeks - I really should watch this show, shouldn't I? I think I'm going to revert to high school, though, and get all angry if I watch it.
20) The Avengers - Yes, I have seen all that are available on DVD. Still haven't gotten The New Avengers DVDs, though.
19) Quantum Leap
18) Veronica Mars - People kept calling this show "The New Buffy". I'm a bit unconvinced, but having not seen a single episode, my skepticism is, I am aware, completely without basis.
17) Beauty and the Beast
16) Babylon 5
15) Family Guy
14) Battlestar Galactica (2003) - I liked what I saw but got bored when Starbuck found that arrow.
13) Mystery Science Theater 3000
12) Pee-Wee's Playhouse - I didn't watch it faithfully as a kid but I enjoyed it!
11) Jericho
10) Xena: Warrior Princess - I didn't watch it faithfully, but it had Bruce Campbell in it and I wuv him.
9) Twilight Zone - I loved what I've seen of the show. When I was a kid, I watched the new revamped series, and the King-written story of a kid alone with his creepy grandmother (the kid played by Barrett Oliver, one of my serious crushes) was fantastic. Ditto the episode with Scott Grimes as a skateboarding kid. I remember bursting to tears at the end of that one.
8) The Simpsons - I don't watch this show faithfully either, but I find it really funny. I remember loving it back in the Tracey Ullman years.
7) The Prisoner - I'm determined to make this my next Avengers-type obsession old-school show.
6) Monty Python's Flying Circus
5) Lost - I watched the first two or three episodes and thought that it would dick me around more than Twin Peaks did. That left a very nasty taste in my mouth and I haven't watched it since.
4) Farscape - Watched all of season one, but didn't watch any more than that. Aeryn is hot. So is Chiana. Can we just dump the guys and have the show be a huge femslash fest?
3) Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2) The X-Files - Watched it on and off. Still have a thing for David Duchovny, but am conviced he has a small penis.
1) Star Trek - Watched it on and off. Sue me, I liked Wesley, but I think I was his demographic at the time.
Five shows I think should've been on the list:
1. Coupling - Yes, I worship the Moff.
2. Connections - Yes, I worship James Burke. Does this count as a series? Probably not. It's still brilliant. Like Cosmos, but not really.
3. Rome - Probably counts more as a series than Connections since it had more than one season.
4. V - I wanted to be Diana when I was younger. She was so hot. I also loved Robert Englund. The aliens were so much cooler than the humans.
5. Life on Mars - If you haven't seen it, watch it before the bloody American version taints it gets broadcast.
6. I've never watched the show, but why is The Sopranos not on that list?
Oh, and supposedly, I'm this color:
you are darkseagreen
#8FBC8FYour dominant hue is green. You're logical and steadfast, focused on figuring life out and doing what makes sense. You value being trusted because you know you're taking the time to figure things out and everyone should just follow you.
Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion.
Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're notexactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally lookup.
the spacefem.com html color quiz (Update: OMG, so embarassing that I didn't check this code and it looked all borked. I think it's fixed now.)
Hmm. It's pretty! Lately, I've been buying a lot of mauves/purples, though. I hate admit that I like those colors. Purple is so... girly.
Brown. I'm more of a brown kinda gal.
