Two for the price of one, tonight!
I've got a sweet tooth for licorice drops and jelly rolls.
Hey sugar daddy, Hansel needs some sugar in his bowl.
I lay out fine china on the linen and polish up the chrome.
If you've got some sugar for me, sugar daddy bring it home.
John Cameron Mitchell is amazing.
Black strap molasses, you're my orange blossom honey bear.
Bring me Versace blue jeans and black designer underwear.
We'll dress up like the disco-dancing jet set in Milan and Rome.
If you've got some sugar for me, sugar daddy bring it home.
For the past several days, I've had "Sugar Daddy" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch running through my head. Thinking about him makes that song jump right in. I think he's sexy, gorgeous, and has more creative talent in his little pinky than I do in my entire body. Oh, how I'd love to be a little imp on his shoulder, watching him go through his artistic process.
Oh the thrill of control, like the rush of rock and roll,
is the sweetest taste I've ever known.
Oh yeah, so come on sugar daddy bring it home.
I learned that
the trailer for Shortbus is out. Not just a regular-old trailer, but a wonderful uncensored version that makes me squee like a teenager. For the uninitiated, Shortbus is a project JCM started many years ago, a comedy about relationships that features explicit sex. I remember being so excited when the call came out for audition tapes for the project, knowing that Hedwig developed organically through improvisation and Shortbus would be the same. I felt that the product would be amazing, thoughtful, and would probably end up a personal favorite film like Hedwig.
When honey bees go shopping, it's something to be seen.
They swarm to wild flowers and get nectar for the queen.
And everything you bring me got me dripping like a honeycomb!
If you've got some sugar for me, Sugar Daddy, bring it home.
Definitely watch the uncensored trailer, with introduction by JCM. I love how quotable the movie is just from the trailer!
"Shortbus: You've got to get on to get off."
"Think of it as some sort of like magical circuit board... a mother board... filled with desire that travels all over the world that touches you, that touches me that connects everybody. You just have to find the right connection, the right circuitry."
"New York, it's where everyone comes to get fucked.
Of course, New York, it's where everyone comes to be forgiven."
Oh yeah, and I made icons:
Epilogue: I spent a day last week listening to Scissor Sisters. JCM -> Scissor Sisters (he directed their video for "Filthy/Gorgeous").

I'm looking forward to the season start of Torchwood. During Season 1, I wasn't really into Captain Jack. I had no outright objection to him, I just didn't see what all the fangirl fuss was about him. My reasoning: we have THE DOCTOR, why do we need anyone else to be squee-y about? Then "The Kiss" happened in the last episode and my perspective changed. I knew he was a guy from the 51st century with all of their... flexibility... but I never really thought about it until that kiss. I rewatched older episodes and my admiration for the character and John Barrowman just bloomed. I heard about the post-watershed spin-off for Torchwood and I began to gobble up every reference I could. I especially love all of the references for Torchwood in season 2, in the same way that Bad Worf was for season 1.
And now,
squee for the Torchwood commercial! I made an icon in honor of this splendid occasion. Woot!

And lastly?
I so want to go.
