School Grounds: Friday Before the Picnic
Layla was having a very busy first day of school. After the bus trip, Layla immediately dropped all her belongings off at her and George's room and headed to the picnic to meet the colonel.
On the way she pulled out her cell and began to dial. "Hello? Burrito Loco? Do you deliver? Excellent. I'll need a the chimichanga special delivered to 13 Griffin Way. Thank you!"
After reading off a credit card number to the restaurant, she was dialing another number. "Ching tai? Yes, I need the number four combo delivered to 13 Griffin Way. Can I get that with extra duck sauce please? Excellent. Thank you!"
Another recitation of the credit card number and Layla had hung up and was dialing again. "Pizza Planet? I need a large deep dish pizza with pepperoni and black olives delivered to 13 Griffin Way. You deliver in thirty minutes or less right? Excellent."
And then after reading off the credit card number she was back on the phone. Again. "Sushi station? I need a magma roll, phoenix roll and two sake toros delivered to 13 Griffin Way. You don't deliver? What if I offered you fifty bucks to make sure it was delivered within the next thirty minutes? Yeah, I thought that was the case."
The credit card was rattled off one last time before Layla punched off the phone and took a breath to survey school grounds. She frowned a little as if she just did something horrible.
"Sorry," she said to nobody in particular and then headed over to the picnic.
