Memories.

Those who have left the City and returned, whether you remember being here in the meantime or not, those who have made deals with the deities, even theories. What happens to our memories, in the City and back in our worlds, that some of us remember so easily while others don't remember a thing?

Yes, I do understand that. But given the nature of the City I thought maybe some would have reasons not to remember some things.

Not quite that...I meant more accidentally learning about the future, since the City seems so fond of bringing people in from different times. And believing it would be best not to remember it.

Even when knowing about it could accidentally cause you to change it? A misplaced word or action can have the most incredible consequences at times.
