I do not want to see ice cream again in any form for at least a month. Yesterday was completely ridiculous.

And I won't even start about this weekend.

I don't think I'll ever be able to look at an ice cream again without remembering...but no, it was bad enough when it was taking place. I shall pretend it never happened.

If you must know, I was asked to perform a waltz by myself in the middle of the Square. A waltz! As though I'd ever danced it before.

That doesn't sound so bad as some of the payments that had to be rendered.

But I suppose it would be a problem if you don't know how to waltz.

Perhaps not, but I'd rather not experience tripping over my own feet in public again.

You could also learn how to waltz. It might come in handy other times.

Not literally a chair. Furniture, or as dear old Amos used to call me, an "Improver" in a large household. Entering and leaving a room without making a noise, standing by the wall for hours on end, that sort of thing.

I'm glad I never thought of anyone on my staff as a piece of furniture. That sort of treatment seems far too cruel for the ones I relied on so much.

And I'm glad to hear that. I know it's definitely made me determined to pay more attention to the servants at the Castle when I get back.

If it's anything as bad as the conditions we were in, I shall most certainly have to have a word with Gabriel. Once he's not furious at me any more.
